Obama leads John McCain by 53-44 percent in the latest ABC News/Washington Post tracking poll, strong in the center and even encroaching on some Republican-leaning groups. Obama trails by 7 points among whites, for example – a group John Kerry lost by 17.
That’s because among whites focused most strongly on the economy, Obama leads.

The exit polls are coming...and as usual Economy is the first issue for majority of the voters, however, the Renewal Energy cause came in fith. :(

obama won the presidential election. that is a great big achievement.
God willing, he may not discredit his self, hope is.
Prop 8 is going to pass unfortunately. This election shows how far we have come as a society, but also how much we haven't as well.

^ You are disappointed at passing of Prop 8??? Come on. 61% Californians had voted against same-sex marriage 8 years ago as well. This is just a continuition of the same. Less votes but same result. Similar measures have passed in two other states this year too. A majority of people just don’t want anyone messing around with the word “marriage”. Big deal.
For me the more amusing thing was that Prop 8 kinda makes clear that “Marriage is between a man and a woman”. A lot of funding for this came from the Mormon Church in Utah. The irony of it is absolutely hilarious!!

... and prostitution is still illegal in San Francisco. Jeez Louise, how come people even think of such ballot measures? Legislation through proposition is probably the worst byproduct of a functional democracy.
