Can you tell us about how working in Pakistan is like? I have lived in Pakistan, but dad worked in the Middle East, so never really knew about the work enviornment. How is it different from the US? I know it is different, but how? Positives, negatives? I am more intrested to know about private sector. Something my dad always tells me is that in Pakistan once you get into a company, you hardly ever get laid off.

TDW: Theres lots of office politics, leg pulling, stealing credits and many others. These things are at different levels in different companies whether private or personal. Lots of boss rear kissing. These things happen here (US) too but not to the extent as in Pakistan :(
I am working here as a senior software analyst in US after I graduated and worked for 2 years in an insurance firm. I always wnated to go back home and was waiting for the right time and opportunity and now will be heading back in feburary Inshallah. I know inseatd of slick sebring I would be driving a suzuki alto but heck Ill be closer to my family , so these things really dont matter. Plus job wise Pakistan offers more oppurnities for rapid growth in techie field if u have a degree froma a foriegn institute. Pay might not be great but if you have a house back home and family I doubt u wont be havin any expesnes at all. so it pretty much balance su p things. If you are serious about moving back start doing coresspeondences with comapnies beforehand. It took me sometime but I eventually secured a job by phone interviews and emails . Also always think bout long term planning rather then get carried away by the short term goals which people make in US after studies.
It would be so cool to get a job that i m looking for but the people I have talked with so far arent going more than 5000-8000 rupees..what am i suppose to do with that? i m not looking for a great number but something more than 15000 is what i m looking for.....i have been in US 5 years and have a masters in information systems managment from US and am a systems analyst for the past 4 years.......what else do I need to get a good job back home? now its not easy for me to go back with 5000 rs since I have a wife to support but I m willing to do it so I can be with her...
Dude, what are you talking about? Any half good MIS with 4 years of experience would be looking for a job with a monthly salary in excess of Rs. 40,000 in Pakistan. Opportinuties are fewer but the right person person for the right job will fetch handsome salary.
i would agree with Wane.. if you hav a good solid educational background plus experience .. you can easily land with a secure job plus benefits ... But u do need to find out right channels.... research more and try to find right connections .. m sure its not that hard.. think if TommyKnocker can do it... so can you .. :-)

US1415 if you have a a MIS degree + experience abroad then u should be aiming for good 40+ not just 15.
I can tell you names of some good comapnies where you can apply while ur in US. Also I know some head hunters and recruiters who can help you out. PM me and I'll do my best.
contact sonia at www.careerpakistan.org (her email is at their site) and just tell her that you are intersted in coming back and want to apply for some companies. They take a percentage of ur first salary but find teh right job for you
thanks man!!I think you are the one who gave me these sites before and I m enrolled in all the places and emailed sonia my resume as well....havent heard anything back from her...I apply almost 50 to 80 jobs per week but I dont hear anything back from anyone....the only one person who emailed me wanted someone to be paid 8000 rs....so any more help that you can provide me would be great!!
by the way: how much time did it took you to get a job?
