Dont forget that kournakova almost won her first wimbeldon (got to the finals i think), which is pretty close to winning it. and she wasn't very old either when she first broke in.

Anna never made it to the Finals of any majors. :p her best accomplishment was qualifying for Semi at Wimbeldon - and cat fight with Martina Hingis.
comparison of Anna with Sharapova is laugable - firstly Maria doesn't come around as Anna does - secondly she has proven to be a champ unlike chump Anna - Maria is an athlete/brand - Anna is a brand athlete.
i know i have took alot of shots at Andre but gotta give the man the credit he has played so far in this year’s open.
the match against Roger will be a tough one - with Roger flying high - it will be a up hill task for Andre to beat him because as we all know - at this moment - Roger is the best Tennis player in the world.
Another upset(most likely as many thought): Nadia beat Justine in the 16th round - it had to happened since Justine was really tired with Olympics - and no rest on topic of that to her - sad to see her go like that - Tennis federation should be delayed the U.S open one week - oh well congrats to Nadia.
^ I agree, Federer is more like younger Sampras (as he modelled his game in similar serve-volley style) and Agassi has obviuosly lost some bite. Even old Sampras was enough for Agassi two years ago. Somehow I dont see Federer beaten by Agassi but I expect a tough an exciting match.
^ I guess teh expected thing is that Federer would beat Agassi but this Open has been completely unpredictable up until now. Federer ofcourse, is a great player and completely energised especially after a walk over match yesterday.
The women’s game has been so weird i must say…Justine going down…and today Mauresmo…*phew
Now i m looking forward to Capriati vs. S. williams :k:
^... i know I felt so bad for justine... that russian grl was pretty good i must say... even though.. i hated her... doesnt she look more like pathani den russain..???..
I m not very fond of either Capriati or Senerna.. doesnt matter to me who win..
Agassi vs Federer.. damn man.. i love both of them... Agassi is looking good but den again Federer.. is so amazing.. My guess is.. Federer will kill him.. ok not may b kill but.. pretty good match...
Roddick.. dont know.. he havent face any1 serious...
Serena
..
the spanish dude was so cute… I feel so bad.. why did he lose?? ![]()
that was so cruel - i mean how come the umpire missed two consecutive calls? insane.
i just don't understand why don't the ref use the instant replay to make a correct call - 4 calls went against Serena in the same set that cost her the game - had i been in Serena's shoes i would not have kept the same nerve as she did - and Jennifer Capriati? i really hate her - i mean you know it's not your call to say anything but please try to lie better next time.
GO LINDSAY GO!
Federer just beat Agassi in a five setter spanning two days amid extremely windy conditions. Not a classic but an exciting match, I thougth Agassi would prevail in these windy conditions but he was broken out of the blue in the last set. Another Federer Roddick final still on.
Henman through to the semis as well :)
Agassi ![]()
I actually wanted Agassi to win so roddick wont have to face Federer in the final :halo:
Anyhow, Hewitt just knocked out Haas in a 3-setter and he’s through to the semis…
Johanssan and Roddick quarterfinal tonight…Go Roddick!:k:
OMG!..^ this is totally opposite.. i wanted federer to win so he could beat roddick... mannnnnn...
i have feelin hewitt will knock down roddick..
Roddick is stunned by 28th seed Johnsson and is out after a five set thriller. That is the biggest upset and i am quite sure we will see Hewitt v/s Federer Final this time around. There is no US player in the semi finals of the US open after 18 years.
actually Andy got beaten by his own game - and i m not sure how he got beaten - he had more aces than Johnson - more break points chances(3/15 ain't gonna get it done!) - and more first/second serve pct.
i never knew Johnson has a GF who's a sister of Hewitt till last night when cameras were focus on them.
it's a clear road for Roger to win 3 out of 4 major titles in a year - yesterday he fought not only against the game's best player Aggassi but mother nature as well when wind was blowing in and out.
andy roddick is over rated..he just can't beat that federov guy..now he lost to 28 ranked player
he’s not overrated
- Andy is one-dimensional tennis player - he will improve - so far i liked his improvement on drop volleys.

Yeah, that is kinda puzzling. Actually he couldnt convert those break point chances while Johnsson did. That was the real difference.
Quarter finals
Set 5
Roddick is down 5 games to 4
World’s best Server goes down 0-40 on his own serve WTF?
It’s all about mental strength…he was acting like a bitch yesterday…fighting with the match referee and all.. whining at every point. He can’t match the mental strength of Sampras, Agassi and the likes. He aint no champion imho

but he saved two match points from same position yesterday and last year he saved one match point in third set tie breaker and came back to win three sets in a row. Mind you, it was his first defeat in his fifth five-setter match, yeah he still has a long way to go when it comes to mental strength but considering he is still young, he probably will learn.
