Re: US terrorists murder a family of 15 in their homes
Just to set things straight: I am talking in relative terms, i.e. in comparison to Pakistan.
As far as looking at the US environmental policy goes, it is subject to immense improvements. I am to some extent optimistic. If Mr. Bush has realized that the American people are "addicted to oil" and is starting to become keen on hybrid and hydrogen cars, this is a good step, but way below what Europe is targetting. If you ask me, even Europeans should increase their efforts. By the way, many cities in the US have set aims such as those noted in the Kyoto Protocol - thanks federalism.
Re: US terrorists murder a family of 15 in their homes
improvement? bush recently allowed oil companies not to respect the very strict US environment laws regarding gas (stricter than europeans standards) because of refining shortages:naraz:
i agree europeans shoulc do far more regarding environment, but we europeans are hypocrites, on one hand we like to point american bad policies, on the other hand we put all our efforts to imitate americans
Well if 3,000 Pakistanis were killed by Baloch Terrorists, I am pretty sure 300,000 Pakistani troops would go to various villages and destroy the BLA. The BLA can then make the same claim but you will call that self defense.
The insurgents are responsible for the daily deaths in Iraq. The numbers of people killed by the insurgents is far far higher than the number killed by the americans. And lastly, USA didnt target iraqi civilians, if it did, it was accicdental. Where as the insurgent purposly target iraqi civilians to cause maximum amount of damage.
As for american bombers? are you referring to this war or previous wars?
What makes u think the Americans care if they kill civilaians or not? The only time they care is when it turns into bad PR, like now, If you read current and past history, this would be an obvious fact. Their bombers/soldiers kill people all the time, current war, and past wars
As for killing 3,000 this whole war is based on the link between Saddam,WMD and Al-Qaeda, which you will know is bogus. Al-Qaeda moved into Iraq, en mass after the war. Before the war they had a nominal presence as they do in many Muslim countries
And as for the BLA, Pak troops have been killing in Baloch villages, long before the BLA came into existence...but that is a seperate topic
Because I know many Americans. I know they are not bloodthirsty beats but 18 and 19 year old kids. They do care if civilians are killed and they do their best to avoid killing them. Heck, my cousin, a Captain in the US Army was killed fighting in Iraq.
Wrong again. USA does care if civilians get killed. Learn to think outside the box and not quote typical anti-american bakwaas for a change.
If you read my old posts. I have NEVER supported this war. This war is a mistake, it will embroil the whole middle east in a bigger conflict, and US forces will get bogged down in Iraq just like Israeli army did in Lebanon or Soviet forces in Afghanistan. I have never supported this war.
Iraq had no link with Al Qaeda. But now that there has been an invasion, its time to think what is best for the Iraqi people and not your own personal vendetta towards USA. The best course for the iraqi people is to have a stable government and USA (whether you like it or not) is working towards that goal. The whole world has a magnifying glass on Iraq and if USA went in their for oil, the cost of War far out weighs the profit of oil from Iraq they will ever make.
I'm sorry for your cousin, I don't think it's the regular troops, and their captains who are the most dangerous for civilians, but the generals and the US gvt who give them orders .
In army orders are the basis to any move, so if $$hit happens down the hierarchy line, it means a general or president, is responsible for it:D.
The real killers of civilian are not those who shoot and get shot, but those who give orders in their comfy chairs in the pentagon.

so don't try to make post justifications to that invasion.

introducing Al Qaida and civil war in Irak is "work towards stable governement", you're kidding us! it's time YOU think outside the box!

They are uneducated desert dwelling people who incorporate tribal customs with Islam and create whabbiasm.

The progress they've made in the past decade alone is staggering, considering most nations took several centuries to go through the same phases.

Thats why with 30% unemployment rate for Saudi Arabian youth, most of the jobs are done by expatriates because Saudis are lazy, talk on the phone all day, drink cafe, and get no work done.

Don't get the point of this "observation", but this has led to the Saudization drive.

What about Egypt, Syria and rest of the middle east who received Soviet support against Israel?
In Iraq, for example, the major hydroelectric plant was soviet made. Iraq and Syria perhaps enjoy the highest literacy rates in the Arab world.
Egypt was always a nominal ally of the soviets, and these days it is firmly in the western camp.

Angola, Central African Republic, Burma, Mozambique, etc...

Failed states, embroiled in factional fighting in part fed by Wesstern powers. Different case, and as far as Pakistan is concerned, not demonstrative.
It must be said, at least the Soviets stood by their allies. Far from nice guys, but we must give them that. I can't recall an incident where the Soviets refused to aid an ally and instead lend support to a pro-Western one.
That's exactly what America did to Pakistan in 1973, and onward.
Is that so? Then what about the Marshall Plan in which USA rebuild Europe or the Berlin Air-lift when US pilots flew planes to feed the people of West Berlin who were cut off by Soviet Troops.
The Marshall plan originated out of the Ashes of WWII, and was designed to ensure that Europe did not fall under communist influence. During the cold war, however, this plan was never emulated again. Needless to say, the Europeans were already developed, and simply required capital and aid in re-developing. The Marshall plan would be an abysmal failure in states which lack the expertise to run their own state of affairs.
Why is it that the only functioning factories in Pakistan were soviet built? These speaks to the so-called worth of the relation between Pakistan and America.
The point is, albeit far from perfect, the record of development, and the quality of investment in terms of infastructure and know-how, is much better on the Soviet side.
Re: US terrorists murder a family of 15 in their homes
since none of the builidngs, infrasttructure is build or designed by saudis but they just hired western designers and south asian laborers to do it. this negates your argument
saudization has utterly failed. read, arabnews.com, everyday there are articles on how incompetent arabs are.
ya, but that never hovered over 50%
ya and?
but also fed by the ignorance and ancient customs of the backward countries
soviets as very nice guys? tell that to the people in berlin in 1953, or hungary 1956, or czechslovakai in 1968, afghanistan in 1979...man seriously, i know you hate america but that doesnt mean you need to give such exaggarated views on its enemies...
No not really. If USA instead of invading Iraq, invests billions of dollars in Afghanistan for instance. Many people who are unemployed and can easily seduced into joining tribal militias and taliban fighters. If they had jobs, they wont join. If the farmers who are growing opium, had better equipment, they would much rather grow something else than opium. So investing money does make a difference, you dont need prior infrastructure. It also depends on the how the money is used and managed.
Well thats our failure. We should have asked USA to set up factories, plants, etc in our country. Instead of buying arms, we should have asked on how to build these weapons. USA sees the world with a myopic zeal, so we could have extracted so much more from USA than what we got in the 1980's
Nope, not true. Soviet system is a socialist system, so obviously there are going to be more factories and more workers working in them. But US system based on capitalism can lead to higher development, and economy to rise than any other economic system...

What higher development & economy, the only thing we see is the ever increasing hold of US companies on resources of poor countries. They are now even getting the water, wonder for how long air will be free. The capitalist systme is only making poor countries better consumers of US good and nothing better.

Have the ‘Barbarian insurgents’ ever claimed that they will observe international rules of conflict no matter what? Have the ‘Barbarian insurgents’ walked into the homes of people and slaughtered them at point blank range?
And are you referring to the acts of ‘terror’ that supposedly these ‘barbarian insurgents’ are doing?
Maybe you forget the one British and two American teams caught planting bombs in cars dressed as ‘barbarian insurgents’…
Or maybe you are so brainwashed that you actually believe that a country united in driving the invaders out would resort to a civil conflict in the middle of a war…
And this thread really wasn’t about ‘barbarian insurgents’…This thread is about cold-blooded, ruthless, merciless, inhuman and vicious invaders…
But you are very ill informed, from what I can gather from your posts…It’s like there’s a direct feed going inside you making you spout exactly what you are fed…
Don;t feel bad…You are not the only one with misinformation or the only one trying to defend and occupation of a soveriegn country…
The act of war and that too on the mere precept of fear involving pre emptive attack is a horrendous concept…It is like Pakistan or India invading Nepal or Tibet because they fear them…
But, just look at what you write…You openly support such horrendous acts committed against other human beings because you have been so brainwashed into believing that it’s right…Not to mention your own fear of nurturing an independent opinion that makes you stand apart from others frightens you…
So like a good German you nod you head to the beat of the Nazi drum…
It’s fine and I understand, go ahead believe what you hear…I understand…The power of suggestion is a powerful tool…It led millions of good, honest Germans to do the unthinkable…And its power is most evident on simple and naive minds which most good people have…Which only proves that you are a person with a good heart…Just are not capable of sifting through facts…
O lawd! You owe me a new computer screen, dude. I threw up my coffee all over the screen while reading this. Are you serious?
Well, looky here. That was the initial plan, but something went amiss.
Hint: insurgency.
*Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz: "There’s a lot of money to pay for this that doesn’t have to be U.S. taxpayer money, and it starts with the assets of the Iraqi people…and on a rough recollection, **the oil revenues of that country could bring between $50 and $100 billion over the course of the next two or three years *[Source: House Committee on Appropriations Hearing on a Supplemental War Regulation, 3/27/03]
Also, anyone who thinks the iraq war was ONLY about oil and not about oil and petrodollar is a colossal moron.
