US lauds Pakistan's cooperation

Very recently Pakistan was notorious for being epicenter of terrorism. For the efforts of President Gen Musharraf now it has all praises in Western sector. Bravo!

US lauds Pakistan’s cooperation

WASHINGTON, April 30: A new US report released on Wednesday termed Pakistan a “key” anti-terror ally, and ranked Pakistan third in the world (behind the United States and Switzerland) in seizing terrorist assets, AFP reported.

There is no nation as fickle as the US, worse than women even.

oh i'm sorry, but i cant quite remember the name of this nation, but they did a 360 turnaround in less than a day and screwed their taliban brothers over for bags of beans marked under money for F-16s. beats the US for fickleness, imho.

180 degrees turn? I dont think you remember the media from that time. We were accused from everything to giving the taliban water.

everyone has their reasons. that doesnt change facts though.

And the facts are what? From what i remember in the media:

  1. The ISI helped the Taliban with intelligence.
  2. Pak military gave supplies
  3. Pak border police let Taliban enter the country.
  4. Pak military flew into Khandahar and got our Taliban out.
  5. Hmm anything else to add?

Take a compass and make a 360 degree turn. What do you observe?:smack:

Mathematics:frusty:

CM, fact is, Pakistan screwed their Taliban brothers over.

It even arrested and packaged off to Guatanamo Bay the Taliban ambassador to Islamabad, a guest of the state.

Pakistan did what it needed to in it's own interests. If that's a problem for Indians then tough.

like i said, no one disputes that Pak had its reasons to be so fickle. self interest is something most nations make policy over. US and Pak are very much in the same boat regarding this.

So what's your point?

Just a correction queer, 360 will bringyou right back where you started.

i see you’ve been taking a lot of math classes. ::slight_smile:
Anyway, Pakistan did what it needed to do. Sure, India has problem with that too…
Pak supports Taliban, India has problem…Pak stop supporting Taliban, India has problem…:rolleyes

which wouldn’t be too far from the developments

so they didnt change at all... displacement = zero? :D

I have to agree with queer. Pakistan back stabbed Taliban; and this would be another black chapter in the Pakistani History.

The appreciation can be judged when Council General of Pakistan, in Canada, Mr. Ghalib Iqbal was stopped at the Canadian/American border by immigration authorities for getting his finger prints and photographs before entry in US. He was going to meet his son who was a student in a US university.

FARID

GO MUSH GO :k:

I don't know about that. Backstabbing Taliban was the best thing Pakistan has done since a long time. Of course if we had not supported Taliban to begin with, it would have been better.

yah - words are cheap and suits well for some sellout like Musharraf who'd put the entire country on a platter after getting one phone call.
What else in terms of material of real significance we've got so far besides all the "showers of praises"?? All that big talk of reviving the Defence Consultative group b/w US & Pakistan hasn't turned up anything yet. Mussharraf, for all his "your truly" turn around got rebuffed by Junior when pleaded for F-16s. Even a bus tire blows in occupied Kashmir and US and all the western world is up against Pakistan, shoving some dose about the sanctity of LoC and stopping the cross border infiltration. We didn't win any US concession for Kashmir. All the while, India never got "praises" from US but instead they are busy compiling a shopping list of military hardware to be purchsed from US and Israel. Not a word of admonishment to India about its occupation of Kashmir.
