Since a poster has told me not to talk about this topic in the other thread (not to forget after giving me a huge lecture in favour of gun culture) I have decided to talk about it here.

Re: US Gun Culture
very quick in opening a thread on gun control in the US indeed! ![]()
‘right to bear arms’ is enshrined the American KaansTiTooshan at the expense of other people’s lives.
it will always be there but it doesn’t serve the purpose ‘the right to bear arms’ was created. more family members die [as a result of this gun constitutional right] by accident or in anger…very few assailants/intruders die by the his/her victims.
i believe that Americans must give up this right to have relative safety.
i lived in Newfoundland’s largest city, St. John’s, in Canada where neither the bad guys nor the police carried guns and as a result no murders were committed for 10-15 years in that city at the time. that’s what i want in every city.
Appreciate you opening the thread ![]()
I didn’t know my post with information that I shared which personally even I didn’t have till last year will be taken as a “lecture”. Also wasn’t aware that merely stating facts about how gun ownership works in the US meant I am talking in its favor.
Re: US Gun Culture
Bint e na em:
I know the discussion went a bit off topic but I guess this used to be one of the characteristics of conversations in General. I said “nice try” to your post because on one hand you gave me good fat lecture on Gun Culture but on the other hand you wanted me not to talk about it because somehow it seemed to you I was disrespecting the severity of the thread. But it doesn’t mean that I was disrespecting the severity of the actual incident. Two very different things.
Anyway, so I don’t even know if you’re in favour of Gun Culture or not but I would like to take this debate further as you claimed that there are strict laws regarding acquiring a gun and it’s not allowed to carry guns in schools and hospitals etc. But then why do we see so many school shooting incidents?
Might as well change the thread title to “US, a Dangerous Country & It’s Gun Culture”.
Because correct me if I am wrong but it was implied in the other thread that compared to the Middle East, US is a dangerous country because of its gun culture & even an armed robbery death is somehow a consequence of the right to own a gun. As if all criminals/murderers in the world commit crime by “legally” obtaining their firearms.
I will respond to this post sometime tonight. Have to leave home to get some things done & I won’t be back till late night.
Just want to let you know that my intention was not to give you a “good fat lecture”. That’s the last thing I would do to someone I have never met in person. Heck I don’t even believe in giving lectures in real life. If that’s how you felt then I apologize.
Re: US Gun Culture
I don’t remember saying the whole of Middle East. Would you still be offended if I had said Canada instead of Qatar or UAE?
You do know that 60% of US killings occur using guns?
PS: I apologise too if I came across as an irrational person. ![]()

Re: US Gun Culture
OK I’ll try to make it as short as possible.
The right to bear arms (guns) was enshrined in the American constitution to safeguard the American population against a tyrannical government.
Right now the American government is becoming more and more tyrannical, NSA spying, police brutality, militarization of police (gears left over from American wars are give to police) etc…
In the past century the biggest killer of civilians has been governments around the world, hence its logical for one to seem protection against a government. And with the current American government gradually moving towards a dictatorship by destroying the constitution, its now even more important for one to be armed in case violence or chaos ensues.
Re: US Gun Culture
Yeah…a sickening movie…
Let me add more stuff
Here is a list of murder rates around the world
List of countries by intentional homicide rate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
-14,827 killed in America 2012
-43,325 in India
-13,846 in Pakistan
( homicide rate per 100,000)
Re: US Gun Culture
this sums up quite a bit of the troll’s behavior pattern. makes shallow inflammatory statement. gets incredibly defensive when given any form of intelligent counter.
