first of all hotels are for forenigers who come to stay in pakistan not for locals.
secondly, pearl continental hotels in karachi and lahore is worth well over $50 million and is fully booked everyday of the year, as is avari and marriot hotels.

^^^ yea. in islamabad the marriot and PC in rawalpindi are almost always operating around the maximum capacity... and most ppl in 5 start hotels are either westerners, arabs, or rich businessmen from other parts of the country. No middle-class pakistani would be crazy enough to pay for those hotels, the daily rent for these hotels are almost as the same as in western nations, and you have to consider the PPP, which means its actualy expensive then western nations.

wow that will be something..although i must say i dont think that area is all that safe for a 5 star hotel,theres plenty of crime near superhighway,people get their moblies and cars snatched at gun point,so they should take that into consideration.but its calm and quiet and pollution levels are low

The best Hotel in Murree with a view is the Pearl Continental Bhourbon, rooms are $168 in season and $138 off season.

Follow this up 2,3 years from now. It will not be built, and this silly story will be forgotten.
Only reason PC,Marriott etc, has occupancy is because they have virtually no competition.
3 or 4 Five star hotels for a city of 10-15 million is nothing.

you just dnt know what you are talking about,
pc, marriot are full because they have no competion? now does that make even an inch of sense.
like i have pointed out above these are not petrol pumps trying to attract locals to come in, they are attracters of foreigners, the reason they are full is because there is a big demand for hotels as lots of foreigners are coming in, which means more 5 star hotels are required.
hashoo group have allready planned huge expansions of lahore pc by adding a 42 story tower and another 5 star hotel in the wall city near badshah mosque, the wall city one is expected to open by next year, 40 story tower is having troubles with the gov, they also have a marriot in the pipeline for lahore, avari has also planned a expansion on there hotel and there is also 3 grand hyatts coming up in lahore, 2 are allready under construction.
demand is there.

Silly boy, 3 or 4 five star hotels in a city of 15 million is nothing
If you have travelled, you will know any big European or even many big Asian cities, have 3,4 Five star hotels in one street alone.
Combine this in the whole city, and you will get 20- 30 Five star hotels, that is competition, not just a handful of hotels, leaving people little or no choice/competition.
As for all these ‘plans’ about billions being spent on hotels for Pakistan becoming a new tourist mecca…u obviously believe everything you read

i have contacts in the real estate market in pakistan, i know some major developers, i know what hotels are being made.
you are obviously against any good thing that happens in pakistan, probably an indian, but you need to get your facts right sometimes in life and look at realitys.

we surly should have and wouldve had if we had a better gov.
the corrupt gov. never supported no one but just eat there money, now you can see that under the mush gov. many hotels are coming (4 grand hyat, hilton, ritz carlton, hyat regancy and others) because they are supporting the investments.
like i pointed out before, occupationcy rate is 100% all the time in isl, lhr and khr which shows that there is big big demand.
