US Election coverage, results and comments [All discussions]

Well OBL claims a lot of things ... who cares!

Anyway, I want to ask OG, what happened in RI? From your posts it seemed it will go to Bush for sure.

Is this some camera trick or is this really ALL RED I see when I switch to CNN?!

Thats very normal. Look at the following chart. This is from Gore-Bush election, and as we all know, despite the apparent abundance of red on the final map, Gore had received more popular vote and lose electoral college by just a whisker.

[thumb=H]mandatemap12080_7697105.JPG[/thumb]
National Popular Vote for Gore 50,996,116
National Popular Vote for Bush 50,456,169
Electoral Votes for Gore 266
Electoral Votes for Bush 271

no matter who wins... we are scrwed anyhow

Somehow I can't visualize Teresa as a First Lady. She is a whack-job.

Kerry 112
Bush 182

no surprise yet.....bush was expected to win these 182 votes anyways....

however almost in every swing state ( except PA), bush is leading at this moment i.e IA, CO, NM, NV, WI, MI, MN etc

Not looking good for kerry....he is trailing in fl, oh, wi, mi. If he loses florida, he must make sure he wins 2 of the other three states otherwise its 4 more years of bush baby.

Kerry up 20% in PA

weird things going on in northern ohio (lucas county). 6000 votes counted 0 for Kerry...

CNN calling PA for Kerry.

Bush at 193

Kerry 133

Western States not yet included. Ohio not declared. Florida not declared.

Bush looking strong.

Upset possible....

Clare McGaskill (D) winning Misouri Gov race 9:59 pm central 50% to 49%...Wow.

Wonder if Kerry had chosen Gebhardt (Sinse Mo. Native) if Mo electoral votes if Mo would have gone Democrat?

It comes down to Ohio. About 50% of the vote is counted Bush 'up' by 5% people are still voting.

northern ohio was supposed to go democrat all the way....

has been corrected, the good thing is northern ohio has only reported a small % thus far.

florida counted 90% and kerry trailing by a good 5-6%...i think fl is out of contention; it comes down to oh and maybe hi

CNN added California to Kerry, so now it is formally 197-188 for Bush. Popular vote is 51-48 for Bush.

Some key states, that are still not put in anyone's column

CO: Bush leading 53-46 (36%)
Ohio: Bush leading 52-48 (54%)
Iowa: Bush leading 52-48 (28%)
New Mexico: Bush leading 52-47 (44%)
Arizona: Bush leading 55-44 (72%)
Florida: Bush leading 52-47 (94%)

Nevada: Kerry leading 52-47 (3%)

This election is almost over for Kerry. Its not even close, IMO.

The fact is that the counties in rural areas report quicker than those in urban and big cities. That is why we see Bush leading in early results. As the counting continues it will be closer. PA and OH have good chance to fall for Kerry. If Kerry picks up NM, NH and WI he will make it to white house. otherwise four more years of Dubya!

FL is out of question now, even with absentees, Kerry can't pull it.

11:44pm EST

BUSH
210

KERRY
199

its getting very close and other states which have not been counted as yet are LEARNING KERRY mostly…(meaning hes leading).

Could this mean Victory for kerry?

^ I dont think so. Bush has got Florida. Dont know if it is going to matter if Penn and Ohio go to Kerry anyway.

ha ha ha…dude which channel are u watching…Bush is leading every where…florida is 97 percent counted and bush is miles ahead…in ohio bush is way ahead…colorado, NM,WI, Iowa, MO every where bush is leading…these are the swing states…kerry is leading in NH and MN and MI but with a slight margin…Bush has won florida and he has a big lead in Ohio…so honestly it is almost all over for kerry…he needs to win one of bush states plus he has to win Iowa and Nevada…

shht maybe not :( i guess another 4 years of BUSHYYYYYY!
