They have the same numbers. But by ;law they are not supposed to announce it till 7 PM at least.

I am not sure if its the law... but basically after the fiasco of 2000 when some networks announced the exit polls even before the voting had closed, all the major networks agreed not to release any early exit polls result until the voting has closed in that particular state.
So the major networks will start publicizing exit polls for states on the Eastern Time Zone (approx 24 states) at close of polls in that state (approx 5 pm Pacific time). Florida won't be announced till 6 pm PT, because parts of Florida panhandle are on Central Time. The exit polls of states in Central, Mountain and Pacific times will be released after their polls are closed. Hawaii will be the last.
After polls closing:
popular vote:
58% Bush: 41%Kerry
electoral vote:
39 Bush: 3 Kerry
Such desparity!
Kerry 77
Bush 66
No big set back so far...but kerry wins NJ ( projected winner)....it is a good win for kerry in NJ....
Kerry 77 Bush 66 as of 8pm
no upsets
Bush leading in Florida

Ohio and PA looking very important for Kerry. leads in ohio and slight lead in PA very early.
Florida souther counties have not been counted which are Dem
It seems like the pundits might be wrong and Kerry even after winning Ohio and PA still lose the election.
The true mess - FLORIDA
Long live Diebold :k:

This is way too early to either get elated or dejected. Every one knows this will be a close race. Not for the faint of heart, definitely. Just wait and see.
At 6:25pm PT, its still Bush 155 and Kerry 112 (I don’t think it includes Florida). Any state with less than 0.5 point difference will not be called and will have an automatic recount (the new law). Lets see how it turns out.
By the way, if Kerry wins, do you think OBL will claim it as his second success, after Spain?
And this time, he didn't even had to fire a shot.
