WASHINGTON: The US State Department on Tuesday designated Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Mullah Fazlullah as a ‘global terrorist’.According to a State Department press release, Fazlullah has been labeled a ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorist’ under Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, which targets terrorists and those providing support to terrorists or acts of terrorism.
The consequences of these designations include a prohibition against American citizens engaging in transactions with Fazlullah, and the freezing of all property and interests of Fazlullah that are in the United States, or come within the United States or the possession or control of US persons, the statement said.
Fazlullah was elected TTP commander in November 2013, following the death of former leader Hakimullah Mehsud.
Under the leadership of Fazlullah, TTP claimed responsibility for the December 16, 2014 attack on a school in Peshawar that resulted in the deaths of at least 148 people, mostly students.
Prior to becoming TTP leader, Fazlullah claimed he was behind the killing of Pakistani Army Major General Sanaullah Niazi in September 2013, as well as ordering the shooting of schoolgirl and activist Malala Yousafzai in 2012.
The State Department designated TTP as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist on September 1, 2010.
TTP was also listed at the United Nations 1267/1989 Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee on July 29, 2011.
Re: US designates Mullah Fazlullah as a 'global terrorist
well this was all said in the past of bin laden also. meanwhile he stayed in pakistan, and the army collected billions of dollars on a war for him - which would have ended and saved tens of thousands of innocent lives if this hadnt happened.
as per the afghans, both mullah omar and al zawahiri are in pakistan too. omar pai is in karachi, zawahiri is in the tribal areas.
Re: US designates Mullah Fazlullah as a 'global terrorist
^ Mr. Dawood isn't a religious fanatic trying to convert everyone to Islam at force, and bombing to get his religous views across. He is a criminal, but in a different category, so why bring him up in this thread, other than to instigate?
Re: US designates Mullah Fazlullah as a 'global terrorist
Mullah Omer if he's even still alive, needs to go, he's such a quack. God, how the heck and why did Pakistan ever back up the guy. He's a villager who interprets the Quran through his village mentality, and then has a Prophet complex on top of it (donning the shawl of the Prophet, etc).
As long as Pakistan muddies Islam as a religion, things will not work out. I don't think God would appreciate being mocked by having a religion of his dirtied so much as what Mullah Omer has done. Thinking it's ok to fly planes into buildings and targeting innocent people, and then proceeding to have kids suicide bomb themselves after they are trapped in madrassas w/no access to internet/tv/newspapers to learn anything else than what is fed to them. :( How did things get to this point??

P.C.G Friend,a closer analysis will reveal Mr.Dawood's links with all these listed terrorists.Mr.Dawood has links with TTP and Afghan Taliban.Without their helps he can not run his business.Either intelligence agencies are aware of it or they are just `hibernating' on it for the suitable timing.
This guy is a menace and he is ruining our generations.I am not instigating any thing here but just stating facts here.Sooner or later he will become a nuisance and detrimental to those harboring him.
Re: US designates Mullah Fazlullah as a 'global terrorist
Well if he has links and he's funding them, then yes, they need to stop supporting him. I don't know much about him other than he's supposedly a mafia don in India who ran to Pakistan is hiding out there. I hear he lives in Karachi.
Again, Pakistanis causing their own destruction. This is why so many of our families have left.

This guy has links with these terror groups.I am not saying that he is in collusion with Al-Nusra that is fighting in Syria or Abu Sayyaf in Philippines but with TTP and Afghan Taliban, surely he has links.

Yes.That is the point.I bet once Pakistan gets rid off these terror elements,60% of it's problem is solved.**

Arleitter, getting rid of stupid goons is one issue. Meanwhile, our leaders have no interest in providing basic security (telling schools to get their own security for kids, what?), providing schooling opportunities (end result - stupid population, low IQ's, easy to manipulate feelings, unchecked and unregulated/monitored madrassa system that provides no real education), rights to clean drinking water, health, etc.
At least build some schools, that should not be so hard. So much money is pumped into the military, you'd think that pakistanis who value education would have built schools for everyone by now. Nope. Only the kids of the elite have that right, they don't want a middle/low class's child sitting next to their kid in class. Plain and simple. Many in the establishment are greedy, and if not, then dumb, and if not that, poor managers, and if not that, just are not farsighted to see consequences of their decisions. How much history do you need to study to know education should be a right and only way for a country to succeed today?
