Whatever the US is doing is for one simple reason - To Counter Balance China.. By building nuclear power stations gives India free hand to divert nuclear fuel from its existing processing/reactors for military purposes. US does not respect international laws it destroyed NPT which gave China a free hand to build reactors in Pakistan.
China still needs uranium from Australia. Pakistan is getting plants that were grand fathered in and US has kind if looked the other way there. It doesn’t compare to what India is getting from the West .
