US avoid humiliating defeat at UN …

And pulls out any further UN resolution(s) … Good job!

Ab barsaat sharo hoo ge ..

if i were iraq i would use my most powerful weapon (if any) right at the start of any military cmapaign by the US.....no need in waiting till half of ur country has been bombarded........as soon as the first bomb drop on Iraq, Saddam should set in his most powerful weapon (if he has any .........)

NeSCio, he could very well blow up Iraq's oil fields or destroy Iraq's dam’s or use chemical weapons. All of which would hurt the Iraqi people and the region around him more than U.S. troops. If Saddam wants to beat the U.S. the only way is to leave Iraq.

The U.S. at it's allies had no choice to withdraw, France did not want to pressure Iraq, and promised to veto any measure that would do so.

of course, but i don't see Saddam as someone who will leave the country he has dictated for two decades...

probably he is planning to fight out a war.....and in thAt case he'd better give his first shot immediately...

When making such claims at least try to tell the whole truth. First the US and it's allies only means UK and Spain. Further, France and Russia threatened to veto any resolution that talked about using force against Iraq, but a total of 11/12 states refused to back the US resolution overall. So sum total:-

US and it's allies = 3 countries

States against or not supporting US = 11/12 countries.

How more isolated can you get than that? No wonder they had to shamelessly withdraw their resolution that they so publicly promised would be voted on.

Source: Price of a bottle of water has gone up from 2,000 to 4,000 dinars but schools and shops are apparently still open - probably in the hopes of providing some normality.

Three countries so committed to war that they choose to bypass all multilateral initiatives. Pretty unbelievably sad. Kofi Annan should just call it a day, there is nothing he was willing/able to do.

These three states are now the new rogue states of the world.
