Firstly let be begin by saying that electronic warfare works both ways, if you can see them then probbaly they can se you it is a smiple equation. But right now due to financial and intenational sanctions Pakistan is restricted from archiving its full military potential.
Secondly, India’s military might is growing steadly and convential warfare is slowly becoming impossible, but altough india has a well eqquiped and partially deciplied army it lacks the logistical support due to the shere number of troops and equipment it has to maintain.
Finally, after reading everyone’s posts which i have to say were well informed and presented professionaly i say that Pakistan has these options.
Develop a Integrated Electronic Countermeasure Programme with the assistance of Singapore or China, Re-enforce it’s airforce to become a competent threat to any hostiles.
and third develop an indeginously produced Electronic Warfare Programme with outside assistance. Because altogh india is well eqqupied it is not self reliant, that is where we could have the upper hand.
Jackal, it'd indeed be an advantage to develop advanced weapon systems indegenously. It will however take 5 decades to catch up with what the US, Israel, France, Germany & Russia can provide today. And the money for R&D is something even India cannot afford.

I agree tom, but you see that is where a Research and Technological alliance/pact would come into action. As no one nation can develop advanced weapon systems on their own we would require research/technological information exchange and that would help the partners to archive thier goals. People nowdays are looking into developing EMP-Elect0 Megnetic Pluse systems to disable or even distory enemey electronic defence and what is so mmazing is that no weapon system on earth is protected agianst EMP emmiters. These babys if built could do anything from shutting down an entire Internet/Telecomms Node to Bringing down an Aircraft/Fightercraft depending on how many electronic/advanced aviaonics the craft depends on to stay in the air.. This system can also scramble missle signials and intercept and disable incomming tactical missiles such as Cruisemissiles carried by the US AGIES Class Distroyers.
Have you heard of the nanite defuser? This baby can disbale the active isotopes within nuclear warheards rendering them useless the best thing is that it can be deployed through simple radio-digital frecquencies.. But it will disable all isotope's or nuclear reactors within its blast range that could effect quite a numbe of countries!!! So its a work in progress!!!
Anyway as the world develops more and more sophisticated weapons systems the likelyness of convential warfare look eveer more remote!!!
No harm dreaming. But the only hit when I googled on Nanite Diffuser was in a review of the game "War and Peace". Safe bet that and EMP descramblers work wonderfully inside XBoxes and Nintendos.

Last I had heard, Pakistan was looking into Brazilian and Swedish airborne radar systems. The problem was that both radars were attached to planes that used US components, and sanctions against Pakistan at that time meant that these countries were not allowed to make a sale.

yes pak is looking for these systems and i heard the news that PAF has installed a new radar system from China at its base near chakwal (i think so)
Ayde, the name of that radar is YLC-2 3-D radar. It's analog in India is the Israeli GreenPine radar system. The YLC-2 radar is intended primarily for survellaince, early detection and tracking. I don't know if it has firecontrol features to guide missiles towards a detected target. The radar is ground based, and is vastly different from what is being discussed here, the AWACS system.
