I was wondering about your arguments and opinions concerning the US and their latest human rights abuse…
As you guys probably know US has been accused of many human rights abuse… of war crimes violation such as the treatment of prisoners of war (Geneva convention of 1949), treatment of civilians (United nation resolutions..) etc. and substantial evidence prove these allegations to be true (the case of Guantamo Bay). Some that took place during and after the war on Iraq and Afghanistan abusing that same international law which legitimized the US use of force against Afghanistan. But how does US justify their human rights violations?
Some of the questions that are very important for us as Pakistanis, Muslims and as part of the international community should be debated… What should be the responsibility of International community and what specific international Law is seen to be abused by the US? The United States sanctions other nations that abuse these international laws (or customary IL) how does it legitimizes their abuse? how should Muslim community in general response to this? etc..
