**The governing left-wing coalition in Uruguay has won a parliamentary majority for a second mandate after a general election on Sunday.**Preliminary results indicate that the Frente Amplio (Broad Front) coalition got 16 senators out of a total of 30 in the higher chamber of parliament.
It also obtained 50 deputies of the 99 in the lower house.
The Electoral Commission is still counting postal votes but analysts say they will not affect the final result.
Final results will be logged on Saturday.
The Broad Front failed to get a clear majority for its presidential candidate in elections also held on Sunday.
Jose Mujica won 47.5% of the votes, and will face a run-off on 29 November against the conservative former President, Luis Lacalle.
