I bought my new iPod the other day and I can’t seem to configure it to my PC…it doesn’t show up in My Computer and the iPod just flashes on “Do not disconnect” for like forever.
Have tried reinstalling the stuff on the disc lotsa times…when it gets to the point where you have to plug the iPod in and configure it…it doesn’t recognizee it when I do and just installs the software…anyone else had the same problem and managed to sort it?
That happened to me the first time I connected it to my computer. It happens if it's been a while since you recharged the battery. Install itunes and then connect the ipod. It should show up in itunes.
Dude, the ipod automatically recharges the battery while connected to the USB slot of ur PC. Yes I came across a similar situation, & I figured it was the USB slot of the PC, try another port, at the back of the CPU. I tried in the front panel but for some mundane reason it doesnt work, & it worked on a slot at the rear end, whcih are built in slots of the mother board.
I think it has something to do with the USB version of the slots...1.1 , 2.0 etc
AFAIK, 3G+ iPod's supports Firewire or USB 2.0. If you are connecting it to USB 1, it won't show up. I connected mine to the home PC on USB 2.0 and it immediately showed up within iTunes. No problem with Firewire either. But when I connected it to my notebook that only has USB 1, no go. Won't even charge the damn thing, which kinda sucked since I was in an airplane with no other power source.
