hey i have the same problem and was told that medication to regulate hormones can take up to 2 years to be effective so you might wan to stick with one treatment. Laser will never work because as soon as u come off the meds hair growth will go back to normal. I have been told by a consultant that the most permenant way to stop hair growth is electrolysis and can take a really time. also Have you tried vaniqa? its meant to be good prescribed topical cream which is supposed to slow down hair growth
Re: Urgh facial hair!
i have a similar problem. Dont have alot of hair but i do have and its noticeable and besides i have hairs on body too+ it grows back really fast + irregular periods. Checked my hormones and doc. said there was no problem. But then a gs member told me to discuss these pills with a doc. called Diane-35. So i have made an appointment and i have done some research myself, it is used up to 3 months and it is supposed to make the hairgrowth and also the amount of hair lower. I just hope i can use them!
Re: Urgh facial hair!
The best thing would be to wax them frequently. And I read on inetrnet after u wax, shave or thread use ginger paste or oil and rub it on the area. It will slow down the growth. I didnt use this alternative but i think u should try. Cuz i read in comments it worked for some people. Good luck!
because i can't be bothered to argue. from the website of a random place offering laser:
sorry if you got that impression... definitely wasn't trying to argue with you, i just said i don't know :)
Re: Urgh facial hair!
Im so sorry you're going through this...I hope you find a solution fast Inshallah.
Re: Urgh facial hair!
laser is worth the money and the time. if you're worried about hair growing back, just shave it off as that can be done during laser treatment. if u need to let it grow a little bit.. stay at mum's for 2 days and make some excuse about why you need to be there...
once the treatment starts [and i mean right after the 1st session] the hair will grow back really slow and really thin... so you'll be fine after the 1st treatment even. Facial hair will take at least 3-4 sessions... and by the time you are on your last 2 sessions the hair growth will be very very fine.
Re: Urgh facial hair!
Have you considered using a contraceptive pill like Dianette which helps manage hormone levels and in turn reduce hair growth
Laser would be a good option too, but research fully which type of laser treatment would be best for you
Re: Urgh facial hair!
hi
if you suffer from facial hair the most effective treatment is laser, just make sure the machine is compatible to your skin, and you go to a professional for the treatment.
Re: Urgh facial hair!
thanks for all your advice everyone :) you guys have always been so helpful. i think im gonna tell the hubby, when i gather the courage, until then i guess i'll just keep shaving cause it seems the most effective, safe and cheapest option atm im certainly going to consider laser treatments in the future, want to get hubbys intake first.
