I am a newbie here I am getting married in November of 2012 inshaAllah, here in Toronto. I am meeting with an Aunty who sells and designs clothes from home. My family and i have bought from her many times in the past and her fitting and work is always ahhh-maz-ing! She is also able to bargain a bit. I have a tight budget, but I am looking for something that is simple, but stunning. I don’t like too much attention and not a fan of too much kaam as it can look gaudy sometimes. I am not super traditional..in the sense that I don’t want to wear red/maroon. I prefer lighter colors like nudes, ivory, light pinks and light peach. I am meeting with this aunty on Monday and she has told me to bring some pictures with me. I would love any suggestions please share!

Hi SGC! I actually ended up checking the thread out..probably the last 50 pages of it or so, the night before my meeting with the lady. I was probably on there till 2 am. I found a picture of a dress that suited my style and taste and she is currently sending the order to Pakistan to have it made:) Gup Shup Forums definitely saved my day (or night lol) thanks:)

i cant post links, but i am getting a Lajwanti dress replicated. It was showcased at the Bridal Couture Week in Karachi - Lajwanti 2. It is a soft pink long kameez and lengha with silver kaam. I have made some changes to it though, so that it includes a mix of silver and soft gold kaam (since i am wearing gold jewelery) with a little bit of baingan purple stone work (not much though, just 5% of the kaam will be this. Instead of a collar style I am getting it with a round neck. Now the waiting game begins to receive it :)
