urgent information regarding henna
This looks like two different types of Mehndi was used.."black mehndi" and regular mehndi..the proper lines come from the expertise of the mehndi artist
Re: urgent information regarding henna

I think you would have better luck buying from mehndi artists in your area rather than a normal desi shop. I know the professional mehndi artists in my city sell cones as wells and when we need to buy for ourselves that's where we go. Find professional mehndi artists in your area through google or Facebook and ask them where they buy from or if the sell themselves.
Are you just curious for yourself or you needing to apply for someone?
Re: urgent information regarding henna
Some people I know are allergic to the black mehndi. Maybe it was just a batch here. I have never used it so I cannot tell.
Re: urgent information regarding henna
I have heard Black mehndi is dangerous, it causes cancer too.
Re: urgent information regarding henna
What you do is you do the outline 1st and leave it on for longer until it dries…then you fill in the coloured bits but only for a little while and it works! :k:
Re: urgent information regarding henna
Khatti, I want to apply, not just curious. Yeah maybe you are right, I shall buy henna from my nearest mehndi artists.

Re: urgent information regarding henna
This kinda look is achieved by using two different types of henna. The darker one is aka Arabic mehndi I think.
I have never used it but as someone mentioned the black henna does contain certain ingredients which can cause an allergic reaction. My cousin had it...it caused itching & localized swelling wherever it was applied n her hands...she washed it at once. Was fine in a few hours after that.
Re: urgent information regarding henna
Ufff kaya yaad dala diya…2 different mehandis have been used. the black one is Arabic mehandi. I had this applied to me some time ago on Eid. It was beautiful but caused a reaction after few days. it was horrible experience and I had to take tablets and use cream to clear it. My doctor was not too pleased too that I used it and said they contain too many chemicals.
from then onwards, been sticking to normal red henna.
Re: urgent information regarding henna
My SIL tried the black mehndi for her wedding. Her hands were itchy but she did not want to ruin her mehndi so she kept it on for a few hours. Her hands became swollen and she has like a small scar/imprint left from it.
Re: urgent information regarding henna
oh. Thanks for sharing all of you. I think I must refrain from using this black mehndi, but any subtitute??
Re: urgent information regarding henna
Go to this link for examples of people with bad reactions to black henna.
black henna tattoo - Google Search
Obviously, not everyone has such a bad reaction, but I would be very reluctant to use this on myself and especially not on a client (they could sue you).
