Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

Hi everyone. How do you use besan ki pikorian? Do u fry them or put them in water?

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

if you wanna use this in a curry [kaRhii] you poach it on steam. if you like it to eat as a snack then you fry. that’s what i think.

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

Besan cannot be poached as far as I know  And if you steam it, it will end up in the family of dhoklas/gatte.

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

Pakoras are always fried  If you want to use them in Karrhi, you first fry them in oil and then soak them in warm water for abt 10 mins. Slightly squeeze them and then add them to Karrhi. This makes the pakoras absorb the karrhi and it tastes yumm.

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

my sisters and mom used to poach…how it is done? you boil water, put muslin cloth over the rim of the pot…drop pakauRas like you drop them in the hot oil…the batter is however thicker than the pakauRaa batter. try it!

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

Aaj raat ko try karti hoon. Will report the results tmrw

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

sure, please do…hamaare liye ek plate email kar dijiyegaa  shukran

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

It’s not pikoras rather pikorian. Dehydrated little blobs of pikoras I think.

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

I don’t soak them in water for karhi, I just add them in karhi, leave the karhi on low heat, 30 mins in the karhi, the pakoras will be soft.

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

if its this you are talking about …

i mix it in lots of yogurt … make raita
or chaat
or i came across a recipe where it was used in bhel …havnt tried it myself

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

Acche nahi bane :frowning: And the taste was no where close to the fried pakoras wala karrhi. I think I’ll stick to my own recipe.

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww…sholly! vaise, practice kartii raheN, ek din aapkii kaRhii dunyaa oopar hogii, iA

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

my pakoray for karhi go directly from oil to hot karhi…no water bath in between.

Re: Urgent help- besan ki pikorian

My folks like thick karrhi and the pakoray dont get soaked nicely. So I use water to soften them…and also putting them in water drains out a little oil and makes me believe I am eating healthy
