He’s 6 months old and just woke up and I know he’s hungry but whenever I go near him he starts crying (yeah his diaper has been changed). I tried just putting the bottle in his mouth but he still kept crying. I tried picking him up and singing and walking around but he still kept crying. i gave him gripe water and that calmed him down for a few seconds but he was crying again. He stops crying again after a few minutes when I leave him alone but then he starts again. I dont know what to do! i know he’s hungry but he wont eat! Im worried ![]()
You need the baby guru Shahreen.
Maybe you should eat infront of him and he might want some too.
too cold? too hot? hope hes comfortable…
give him a toy or something to divert his attention. something that makes a sound wen he plays with it…
human touch has its own mysterious soothing n relaxing qualities too…
hold him, n give him some sweet hugs…
but i guess u mustv tried that already ![]()
he’s not too cold or too hot and I tried giving him human touch and picked him up and actually danced to make him feel better. he stopped crying for a bit but then he started crying again.
his mom is away and i cant even reach her at the moment. its stressing me out like crazy seeing him cry, he has these fat tears rolling down and i dont know what to do! yeah i tried eating in front of him, he just pulled the plastic covering my roti toward him and started putting his face in it but i thought that was dangerous and he may stop breathing so he took that away and he started crying. i guess its cuz he doesnt know me very werll? he sees me what a few times a month.
im warming up a new bottle, maybe something was wrong with the milk or it wasnt warm enough for him.
this kid actually pretty nice, I used to throw my bottle away if i didnt like it, n then cry
errrmm give em ice cream? scare em with a vacum cleaner? or give em like paper or something to play with since he grabbed the plastic to play with it right?
Try the ever-wonder works of peek-a-boo ...(just with ur hands n face b/c he's too young for the behind - the-sofa type)
I hope the milk is just hte rite temp this time.
Good Luck.
could be a burp, did you burp him? or could be just stranger anxiety... in that case you need to use toys with lights and music/noise and bright colors basically distractions....
God bless Indian music! :D alhumdolillah he has stopped crying and is busy wrecking and drooling over pictures of his sister but he still hasn;t eaten.
^ he will eat when he is hungry don't force the issue, music/noise almost always works ...
Glad the music worked, also try a quick walk with him outside.
Ah I've met with success :D baby has been fed, burped, drooled over my neck and clothes and fell asleep in my arms with his little face tucked into my neck.

Well as you've just discovered Sarah, babies are that much more lovable when they aren't crying.
Nah Shahreen, my heart was breaking when he was crying. he was ultra lovable even then.
kick him in his tiny balls.
yep, babies are time bombs waiting to go off :roman:

he may be teething, do you have achew toy?
Hello, your poor little one! Can you have him checked for GERD gastro-esophageal reflux? Many little ones have it to some degree. The contents of the stomach come back up the esopagus which is painful since the stomach acid burns and makes the esopagus very irritated. It can be treated with medications like zantac, prevacid or prilosec. 2 of my boys have this problem and sadly my oldest was not diagnosed until he was 2 yrs old!! By that point, he was so averse to eating or drinking anything that he'd rather starve than eat. My younger one was diagnosed at 4 months old since we have a better doc and I know now what to look for. The biggest hint is that he wasnt eating even when hungry, always turning away from his bottle and crying without any other apparent reason. Other symptoms can include vomiting and arching the back when eating or soon after (but these symptoms are not always present). Infants usually outgrow their reflux by age 1 but a small percentage will have the affliction longer.
I hope this helps! Its worth looking into...
