Ok so it's a Tamil word.

கோஷா - kosa - [kōṣā]
, s. (pers. or Hind) a corner or retired place; restriction put on Muhamadan & Rajput ladies that they should neither see nor be seen by males; 2. a zenana lady.

oh I missed place and thought its a time period. but that doesn’t fit in both of Gulzar songs… neither in kosa kosa lagta hai nor in line Kosa hai kosa hai, barish ka bosa hai in the song ‘barso re megha megha’

We all know that Muslim / Rajput confinement doesn’t have any link with Tamil term ‘Kosa’… Ninja should be here

kosa means slightly hot, subcontinental languages has alot of common words. we cherish here when Gulzar sahib writes such word as ‘kosa’ and ‘Kachehri’ which are common in sindhi.
