Gora log dump their loved once and never look back, therefore no Kasak in English. :snooty:

Re: urdu word, 'kask', kee english kiya ho gi

I think kasak is sweet pain. LOL. whatever it is.

Re: urdu word, 'kask', kee english kiya ho gi

closest word i can think of would be reverberation.

echo: the persistence of a sound after its source has stopped
repercussion: a remote or indirect consequence of some action; "his declaration had unforeseen repercussions"; "reverberations of the market crash were felt years later"

Kasak is word of Hindi origin and now assimilated in Urdu. In English it will be translated as pine that is a pain caused in the heart by remeberance of a past sad happening.
e.g. " Zakhm to bhar chuke par dil mein kasak baaqi hai!" - Daagh
e.g " O Sailor lost and forgotten! My heart yet pines for thee!" - Milton.
e.g." Haai saanwariya dil ki kasak main kaason kahungi aaj?" - Malik Muhammad Jaaisi (Kahnawat)

Re: urdu word, 'kask', kee english kiya ho gi

It translates to longing

Re: urdu word, 'kask', kee english kiya ho gi

you folks are translating the poetic meaning of it, but kasak literally means something close to dying echo right?

Re: urdu word, 'kask', kee english kiya ho gi

Wrong! Ravage!Absolutely wrong. It means pain caused by remembering a past sense of belonging that exists no more in the presence. I still stand by the translation of pining. You are humbly suggested to refer to the celebrated Farhang e Aasifiya for the meaning in Urdu and draw your own conclusion.
Thanks.
