Urdu "Sunday" School

In England, my parents sent us to Sunday school every weekend to learn to read, write and speak Urdu.

Do they offer anything like that here for bachay and where?

Re: Urdu "Sunday" School

I know the Toronto region offers a multitude of different classes for different languages, in which Urdu is also included. Not too sure about Mississauga/Brampton though.

I've mentioned to you that my parents put my siblings and I through the Urdu classes, and they were held every Saturday morning from 9:30 - 12 or around that time.

I remember reading one of the booklets that came from school last year offering Urdu classes for children in school. I was interested at the time, but it didn't work out. I do believe your child has to be enrolled in school before they can begin.

Let me see if I can find a website...

Re: Urdu "Sunday" School

You mean through the school board they offer these classes?

**
yes Mahnaz JI, they do thru heritage language programs. contact ur district school board or ur nearest school. these days, they also have islamic schools all over canada with full regular school curriculum approved by Ontario School Board. so plz get in touch.

i, also, believe if parents are capable of teaching their kids they must also do so and not solely depend on sunday schools. teaching starts at home...right?**
