does anyone know a Urdu language course on CD, which is known to be a good and professional one with pretty good results?
I would like to finally learn Urdu although English isn’t my mothertongue.

Do you know some urdu words ?
Learning clasic urdu requires time and patience. You need to know the Alphabets and style of writing , which is similar to Arabic or persian.
Or the easy way …
Start visitng Cafe regularly , they are very friendly people. They write in english and urdu . Ask them to translate what ever they say in urdu. They will do it for you. Urdu written by using english alphabets is called roman urdu. Most of the young members of this website can only write in this way because they are not familiar with urdu in its original style of writing

There is "Teach Yourself Urdu" available from Amazon with accompanying CDs.
It would help to have a native speaker around
