Urdu Fiction

does anyone know where I can get some good urdu books translated into english… or stories written by pakistani/indian writers…

for example, books like Haveli, Azadi, A Suitable Boy… etc?

I cant get them from here in melbourne, so would prob be getting them over the net.. any recomendations?

i've been wondering about this myself. You should be able to get A Suitable Boy at a major bookstore in Melbourne... it's originally published in English i think. The rest - sorry :~( i wish i could help you out there.

its really easy to learn urdu..i m sure you can speak it..so u shouldnt have a hard time reading it :)

you might be able to buy them from the OUP pakistan website, if they have them listed. check out
www.oup.com.pk
they say shipping is free on all orders.

Thank u haris.. i’ll check it out :flower2:
hey Nadia! na ive read all those books i mentioned. I was wanting something similar. Books revolving around the pakistani/indian/bengali culture

ive read a few other books, but they havent been very thought provoking. I couldnt get the hang of Azadi though, was too biased for me to indulge myself into
