anyone here a fan of stage shows. Atleast you’ve watched one or two even if you’re not a fan of this medium.
Like many Umer Shreif was the reason for me to start watching stage shows. His super hits like Bakra kiston pe and BKP 2 are a true classic with the phenomenon Moin Akhtar. Moin hasnt done stage for a while now and Umer himself has been out of picture for a while now. Other shows that are a must watch of Umer are Bakra Eid, Umer Umer hai, Umer Hazar ho, if you watch anyone of those you’re gurenteed to go lauging the whole 2 hours.
Punjabi stage always took a back seat due to super successful Urdu stage shows. But in the past decade it’s been proven otherwise. Shartia Methay and it 2nd part, Baba Dang, the orignal title is somethign but due to Sohail Ahmed’s awesome work as Baba Dang it’s called Baba Dang, Kotha, Chandni Raatein, Bohey Barian, Miss Pino, Kechup and so many others are a comedy masterpiece.
In punjabi stage shows Aman Ullah, Sohail Ahmed, Babu Baral and Amanat Chun are my favorite artists. Recently a few very talented artists have passed away. Shoqi Khan died in a car accident a few months back. Amjad and another guy who plays Babu and Aman’s father in Shartia Methay, were both great artist and died two years ago.
So if you watch comedy stage shows which one are your favorites. Urdu or Punjabi doesn’t matter.
To be honest, compared to what we have now, guys like mastana and all, umer shareef was hardly funny... Only indians like umer shareef, as they understand his jokes!!
My favourite the king of stage AMAN ULLAH. If you can understand Punjabi you should watch AMAN ULLAH man he is the king of commedy. :k: :k: :k:
Has anyone watched the encounter of Aamn Ullah and Umar Shareef? It was never video taped but it took place in Lahore and that was a blast to watch. Umar Shareef was speechless in front of Aman Ullah.
Aman ullah is the king of punjabi comedy. He has this unique style and approach toward comedy that distinguishes him from the rest. His comedy is revolves around two sides of the coin. Some time it's the rich vs. poor that he likes to take on and sometimes it's the human physique ala fat vs. thin and so on but the best thing is he ain't baised against anyone, he hits everyone with his comedy.
There was this stage show in which Aman takes on Shoail Ahmed who is his nephew. That segment was around 20 minutes long and brings the best out of both of these guys. Aman thinks of starting "madari wala" business and seeks help from his nephew, Sohail.
