:salam2:
Most of the countries are using their national language as an official language and they designed / operate the system in their own language whereas other lanugage i.e. english also used as ‘commerical’ language.
Why in Pakistan we don’t use ‘Urdu’ as ‘official’ language in all sectors whereas we can operate / design such softwares all in urdu and then any other language as ‘commerical’ type.

Re: Urdu - An Official Language
ya we should.
but i see one problem there are lots of technical words which are hard to explain in urdu (as-in in one word).
well may be we should design in urdu as far as we could.

In arab countries arabic is the official language and english used as commerical / business languages. All their software are designed in arabic even the official letters are addressed in arabic.
Many pak who moves there for whatsoever reason face difficulties in communication so they try their best to learn arabic or english as fast as they can.
So why don't we have such system in pakistan? where any foreinger comes he/she must learn urdu to communicate with us rather then we whole nations change ourself for just one person.
Re: Urdu - An Official Language
thats true.
i think urdu is hard to learn as compared to english. you notice that us pakistanis tend to learn english in seconds when urdu is our first language. but as far as i know a gora will take some time to learn good urdu...eventually s/he will be able to speak it but after a time.

Well, I have seen many gora's who even don't know how to write an official letter in english (i mean the format and context) and they get good jobs just b'coz there national language is english although we learn and practice it. Same thing we, urdu speakers think that we are master in urdu b'coz thats our national language but in fact, there is many many words which still we never heard. Like in poems, ghazal and songs.
Urdu is same as arabic but the main differents is the combination of words same as the words plays different roles while writing french and english. :)
Re: Urdu - An Official Language
oh yeah by no means it means that if english is the national lang of usa or uk or canada then every gora knows it perfectly. i know goray too whose grammer is not good. same goes for people in pakistan for urdu.
ya urdu is same as arabic and farsi.
