Urban Harvest around town

I am not sure if this thread belongs here, but I suppose it could encourage to travel around even if within your own town.

I found this website very interesting. It lists naturally growing/open to public fruit trees/plants around the city. Locate it, go to it, pick fruit, enjoy! Or at least that’s the idea.

Click on Map. It shows different types of fruits found around the world; map is contribution of local people.

Re: Urban Harvest around town

nice share... btw no fruit from Pakistan and Kashmir. Something needs to be done!

Re: Urban Harvest around town

Locals should contribute. Google Maps about 2-3 years ago was asking input from everyday people if they saw something was not right on maps in places where Google does not have presence on the ground. The result is that now you can use google maps to get from one part of Pakistan to another.

Maybe not the only reason, but I would like to think that local contribution to google maps made it happen.

What episode of Portlandia was this in?

Re: Urban Harvest around town

The closest place to my house that was pinned was a dumpster…and even that was labelled not for consumption :smack:

Do crab apples count as food? Because there are tons where I live.
