Tried to sit through this one. There's not much of a plot and the acting, sets, music while aesthetically OK are rather overdone. I wasn't too impressed with the overemphasis on portrayal of the lifestyle of the rich and those who have it, I mean it's fine if the folks in the drama are well off, but the plot has to come first, grand furniture and awesome sets cannot take precedence over the story itself. The aunty shopping for her bag at the mall sequence with the comments of the shopkeeper was cringe inducing. What exactly are they trying to tell via all this?
Additionally, why is everyone around the dinner table all the time??
^haha the diner table comment i agree with! the sets are annoying.
i liek the theme though. I think it's going to make the point that no matter how much women try to make their careers and be independent...men in our society are able to control them. (huamyoun is gonna go around with each girl i think)
I just hope that Umera shows something different at the end..about how Ayesha can take a stand and continue to live a good life.
Yeah the dinner table I noticed too and they are always eating biryani LOL - this time I actually saw Humayun holding a roti haha
The less said about the sets the better. Evernew needs to hire better interior designers!!
I think Ayesha will stand up for herself because now she is beginning to realize that she was double crossed. I think Zhalay's character is going to divorce Faraz and then work with Ayesha to bring some justice to the whole situation. I think right now the court is going to just drag the case as they are famous for doing.
yea im confused. is this really Umera's work? I like her stuff because in everyone scene there is something we as a society can be ashamed of and then learn and try to correct, or atleast accept it.
Every line, every dialogue, every expression, represents something. She always knows it all so well. I am not liking this.
you guys are right that it doesn't seems like Umera's drama. what my guess is it was her concept and then someone wrote the dialogues and the dramatization.
ps. i dont know why but this concept seems like a copy of a movie or a drama or an adaptation of some novel, but not something original.
^^ She did write this one but you're right Zobia it is based on a couple of different things. One of them Umera mentioned on her FB page is "One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest". The other one she mentioned was 3 faces of Eve or something like that.
I think it's like "The Ghost" where that was also adapted from a Danielle Steele novel.
I still like the core idea of this one - an overbearing mother whose son is a psychopath psychologist and knows exactly what women want and how to behave in society so he cannot be caught.
I wish they had done away with the whole miscarriage story and the father trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter. That stuff is a big bore.
^ i agree, this episode was a total drag, it has almost a soap feel to it including the gaudy fake sets! main storyline is good but they are wasting time, what was up with the mother having flashbacks of her failed marriage...?? total waste of time
^^ yeah I checked the timer after I forwarded through the flashback sequence - almost 9 pathetic minutes long! Pointless stuff!
And I expected better sets from Evernew and Yasir Nawaz - what were they thinking??
Yeah, this drama is really slow...there's no point of dragging it like this, it just gets boring...but i still enjoy watching it - though i skip through it when it seems to stretched especially the guys first wifes bit...all she's doing is sad and quiet and figuring out what went wrong all the times and its a bit to much when people ask her questions and she doesn't say anything other then he's my husband..i can't say anything to/about him...man enough now just start talking and get it all out.
same here - I am confused! how can you not pay attention to editing that out??
Pretty good episode overall. The scene where Zhalay is not made to enter her home was well done. And Humayun did a good job in the flashbacks playing the creepy husband - gave me shivers..
