From the 1st episode, it seems promising.
Good to see Zhalay on the screen again. Her mom is quite funny :)
I found it ironic that Hina is playing Amna's Mom because Amna is doing a similar type of a talk show that Hina did on Geo :D
Right now it looks like Humayun's character is a big hypocrite. Has divorced his wife. Will start liking Amna's character. And His Mom is going to want him to marry Zhalay.
I am sure the story is more complex than this :D hehe

a bit of info about Uraan from Haissam:
**I was handed over the project and we started discussing various aspects of the storyline. URAAN to me was special as it was initially going to be my first project. I being a recent graduate from film school then, learned the actual script development from Umera. URAAN was a different genre and a difficult script to dev...elop. It is a psychological drama and examines human psyche in detail which is not an easy task. The project could have been shot and released in 2007 as the script was ready and we had done the initial budgeting and the casting but then I had to back out as I joined Moomal Productions after facing some professional problems at Evernew. Then Umera was not agreeing with Evernew on the names that they were forwarding as the possible directors. That delayed it for a few more years. I was more then pleased to know when Yasir was finally chosen in 2009 to direct this project. Just saw the first episode and had to confess that I thoroughly enjoyed it…. Hats Off**

Wow I think I am really going to be loving this drama! With the 2nd episode, shedding some light on the psyche of the mother and son duo and what they have done with Aisha, this is going to turn into somewhat of a psychological play. Looks like Humayun's character (Faraz) and his mom are really screwed up in the head. I feel bad for the ex-wife (Aisha). I hope she gets her revenge by the end :D

although the story line is fairly predictable, I really like this drama. Doesn't have the melodrama of Babar Javaid which is a definite plus.

I am really enjoying this one. Good to see Humayun in something that is not so typical for him. Great choice for all the women. Thank goodness none of them are bimbos.

Dr. Faraz is totally creeping me out. What a psycho! And why is Amina Sheikh so happy to receive all this crap from him and not just throw out everything - so weird!! I would be totally creeped out if I was getting flowers and cards from some psycho.
I like Zhalay's character. She's such a natural.
Feel bad for Saba Qamar. Dr. Faraz and mommy completely screwed her over and she was a star student!
Evernew's sets are quite gaudy. Wonder why they didn't shoot the drama in proper homes. I guess they couldn't find that many in time for production. They could have done a better job with the wall colors and furniture.

Out of all the few dramas I'm watching these days, I'm liking this one the best. They storyline is great! I love it when dramas have storylines that portray reality.
Humayon Saeed is such a mama's boy in this! But it's a nice change to see him playing this type of character.
Rukhsarbibi - I think Amina isn't freaked out too much, because in her head it's that guy from work who is sending her the flowers/cards. She's not even thinking that it could be anyone else. And what's up with the old guy that was cutting out her pictures from magazines and newspapers? I don't think it's the mystery guy on the phone. Maybe it's her dad?
Overall, I'm loving it so far. Even more than Quaid-e-Tanhai (am I allowed to say that? :p)

^^ I am with you Smilestar. I like it better than Qaid-e-Tanhai because of the better direction. QeT would be really good if BJ was not directing it with his lingering long shots of people walking and thinking.
Anyways, coming to Uraan - I think the guy following her (Sohail Asghar??) is her dad who used to abuse her mom.
Oh and I SO DO NOT LIKE that lawyer guy playing opposite Hina bint-e-whats her name (the Geo talkshow lady). They so do not make a good couple!

I wonder when Ayesha will stand up for her rights and when Faraz will get his due. Probably not any time soon. Let's see what happens with this new marriage and Momma's boy :D
I am surprised not many people are watching this one as it shows quite a few facets of the independent women in our society.

this is my new favourite, the story is different because the abuse shown here is unlike what is normally shown oncreen, no blatant melodrama with the obviously khaufnaak starplus saas and the shouting matches...this is way more disturbing since independent, self confident and well educated women are shown to be just as vulnerable and prone to domestic abuse which is even harder to detect from the outside, playing mind games is just as deadly as verbal and physical abuse. happy to see our dramas spreading social awareness on important issues once again.

I completely agree. Her character is depicted as that of a mature confident woman but she's acting like a high school girl receiving gifts from her secret admirer.

I agree. The old guy is prob her dad and is not the mystery caller. Probably giving us a head fake:). I think ppl aren't watching this coz it airs at the same time as Dastaan.

so i am watching episode and I had to leave this comment. The old lawyer guy is taking too much interest in amina. He invited her and her mom to dinner and when amina didn't show up, he specifically asked.. ufff i hope he isn't the mystery caller.. coz i am hoping the mom ends up with him.

I love the fact that they had the brother insist on a Pre-nup with Faraz. I don't think I've heard anyone mention a pre-nup in a Pakistani drama before. It shows how a woman who goes on and on about being independent and wanting things her way, completely does not think from her head when getting married. Unfortunately most of us women are like that :D

Nice drama, I like how it's quite progressive and liberal. I like Zhalay's character, and I am waiting for Ayesha's character to pick up pace. Amina Sheikh seems to be doing a lot of similar characters, her acting, and dialogue delivery remains the same in all of them...I like her, I just wish she'd do something different rather than picking up similar roles.
