The world has so much to offer: exotic cultures, historic landmarks, interesting cuisines, museums with so many artifacts and paintings, natural wonders, pristine beaches, beautiful old buildings etc etc etc
If I could I would travel for the rest of my life--wht better profession than that....
As for spending a lot of money--travelling is for your personal enrichment. Once the trip is over, the memories have been embedded forever; you cant donate them or sell them on ebay--they are entirely yours.
I had a luxurious honeymoon in French Polynesia; complete with the spa exerience, jungle excursions, kayaking, cultural shows, living in overwater bungalows---I do not regret it!

wow...great to hear that. i agree with u in parts.
i love travelling too. i have been to 5 continents so far. The only remaining continent for me to visit is Australia. i'm going to New Zealand and Australia for a year in Jan. i've job related research work in Horticulture and as a result will be able to travel within New Zealand and Australia. :)**
French Polynesia especially Bora Bora was my husbands dream destination. He said other places are great for holiday, but FP is ideal for a honeymoon. I on the other hand would have chosen Europe; either Spain, France, and Italy or Greece and Turkey:)
FP is beautiful and of course the most scenic of the islands is Bora Bora. There are so many islands to choose from; Moorea and Raitea are islands for the adventurous!!! You can go mountain climbing in Raitea; there’s this gorgeous waterfall near the peak.
If you decide to go sumo–go during the winter. Very few tourists so it seems as if the islands are all yours
^ funny u mention Turkey...my finace really wants to visit Turkey (Istanbul) but is giving it up for my wishes to go to Santorini n Athens (Athens for him...ll be there for 3nights n 2 in santorini). But i feel really guilty, wuld you recommend Istanbul for Honeymoon???
but u are so close to Turkey..couldnt u go for a couple of days at least....
^ he only has a month of vacation for the wedding + honeymoon + family time (his family is in pakistan) and he wants to spend at least 3 weeks with his parents/family...so that only leave us abt 5 days for the honeymoon...cant really ask him to skip on family time u knw :)
Where do you keep passports, credit cards and money when you are on a vacation? I read that a lot of hotel rooms have safes in them, is it safe to keep your passports/money in them or should you be taking your passports/money with you everytime you leave the room to go to the beach or do an activity? Even then you will have to put your bags down at somepoint if lets say your doing an activity like snorkeling or other fun stuff. What do you guys reccomend?
I would like to go to one of the above destinations. If none of above was possible then Northern areas of Pakistan ;)

my cousin wanted to go to ummrah after the wedding but my mum said it doesnt seem suitable cos at ummrah ur full devotion should be to Allah and if ur newlyweds....well...ur newlyweds and ur mind is elsewhere..ie with ur hubby or wife....what do ppl think bout that?
To all those who went to the Maldives, did you go from Pakistan?
I was searching for flights from Lahore on the internet and find that there's at least two stops in the middle and it takes over a day to get there! Also, approx whats the ticket cost and cost of stay otherwise?
