ive been to paris but only for a few hours and only got a chance to see the eiffel tower and ofcourse u should def go there. i dindt get a chance to go anywhere else but i would suggest the louvre.
i went to barcelona jsut a few months ago and omg ur gonna love it!!!!! If someone had just one place they could see in barcelona i would say go straight to Park Guell. That was definitely the best site in all of barcelona, architecturaly speaking. Other than that some other places I liked were Sagrada Familia, Casa Battlo. This is all Gaudi's (an architect) work. Definitely wiki him and these places before you leave to get a better understanding and to see if you wanna go to these places.
Try to go see a flamenco show there, we went to see one called "Los Tarantos" its on Placa Reial (the most famous tourist spot in barcelona). all these places will make sense to u once u get there.
Go to the beach, and eat by the restaurants there. They have some amazing seafood there, I hated seafood till I ate at one of these restaurants. We stayed at this one restaurant for 4 hours, just eating, talking and having an amazing relaxing time. Food is delicious. Make sure you try out tapas and paellas.
The best restaurant I went to there was Comerc 24. It was pretty pricey but the food was amazing! Its owned by a popular spanish chef and the cuisine is spanish eclectic. We all got the 13 course tasting menu! It was a tiring marathon dinner but definitely a wonderful experience. PM me if you want more info. Have fun!! youll love it there!
We went for Umrah about 2 weeks after the wedding - from there we flew to Rome and then joined a tour which took us through Italy, Switzerland and France - was absolutely awesome -
^ It's my husband's dream to go to Santorini (we are nikhafied and getting married in July 2010 I'A). I'm more interested in malaysia, I think it'll be cheaper and we can be in 2 different environments - city and island. But it's all very expensive so still haven't decided on anything.
^that's so weird, we have been thinking of the same sort of options. greece/italy or malaysia.
malaysia for the same reasons you just gave naqsa. malaysia has lots of little islands, the east coast is less touristy too. there are some very secluded ones with just a few villas and honeymoon packages are very reasonable.

^ exactly! And apparently Malaysia ias a great place to shop as well. Plus, the food is halal and it has a lot of Islamic history so it'll be interesting to visit teh mosques and mueseums. The secluded islands would be suitable for people like me who are more conservative and won't prance around in a bathing suit on a public beach. And let's not forget that it's way more economical than Europe. It seems perfect!
On holiday one time, I was at the beach. People were patangai all around.. and there was this couple, guy was a mullah-beard-wala and the wife was wearing full burqua.. they were walking hand in hand along the sea.
Spending 5 days in Maldives, enjoying being alone, and snorkelling...then 5 days in Malaysia, Kuala Lampur. This will be more about shopping and having a laugh. I cant wait to go. x
