ur choice

we were having this discussion in our psychology class so i thought it was an interesting issue.

well anyways she said that when someon is pregnant and they go for the ultra sound i guess to see how the baby’s coming along n all and the doctor tells u that everything is fine except for that the baby has a certain kinda gene(i forget the name) that shows that the baby would be gay. so the question was, if the doctors could alter that gene would you want to change it? or would u leave it and have a baby who’s gay?

now i was confused cuz i thought u can’t mess with nature, and wuteva Allah(swt) has made u can’t add or remove n.e. thing from it to fit ur needs or how eva u want the baby to be

but then again isn’t being gay or lesbian haram?? im totally confused on this

there is no gene known to medical science says that you will be gay. But god does make gays. Hope it answers your questions.

interesting question you pose......however, this argument doesn't count: cuz if u were to go along this line: u'd stop all medical actions altogether.....cuz they per definition interfere in nature

Matsui oh, well then may b she was saying it as "if there was a gene known..." i dono, i thought it wuz interesting though n.e. ways

Nescio bhai yea that's wut i wuz thinking too, but then again if u culd change it wuldn't u want ur kid NOT to b gay n suffer through his whole life...i mean i wuz arguing with my friend n she said she wuld change that if she culd but i wuz like u can't though cuz it's nature n then she wuz like it's haram though being gay/lesbian but then again Allah(Swt) is the one creating all this.. hmph

what do you mean by gay? as in having gay tendencies? or being born female with male genes (something along those lines)

im not sure, ide probably find outmroe abt it, but one thing is, my dad had a patient once in the hospital, the little girl turned out to be a boy, and she was one of those pink pixie types,

ofcourse she was heartbroken, but the whole situation is quite complex

If someone is gay, it is not because of any gene.

Why would Allah swt make something haraam, that is beyond your control? It´s a personal choice, althouth the so-called “liberals” want to make us believe that it is a natural to be gay :naooz:.

There’s no such thing as a gay gene, well not that we know of yet but a scientist/psychologist somewhere once dissected the heads of some male corpses, half were known to be gays and the other half straights…

…He found that a certain part of the gays brain was different in size to that of the straights; it was similar to that of females.

I believe this size different could be the result of gay thoughts and actions (that it develops like a females because of them thoughts and actions) and not the other way round.

Regardless of weather someone is created that way or not it’s our actions which Allah judges us by, not our 'tendencies'.

:D ;)

How true is this thing about the difference in brain sizes? Anything to back it up?

No offence but this sounds like a bunch of rubbish.

It was a research study by Simon Levay, we studied it in Psychology last year, I’ll see if I can dig out one of my old textbooks.

PK Taz is right. We studied it in my Bio class.
