So i'm still waiting to hear from Channmahi, Chaltahai, rvikz, queer etc about why there is so much censorship in Indian films and media?

India being the land of Kama Sutra and all...

Kamasutra doesn't say that Kama has to be practised in public. I dont know what do you mean by censorship in Films & media ? Please clarify then maybe I can answer.

i am curious as to why it is that upper cast hindu women from the brahmin caste are obligated to cover their heads with dupatta. the concept seems quite similar to that in islam. any comments?
"upper cast hindu women from the brahmin caste" from the south of India never cover their heads.

Asif,

that was an answer to rvikz quote "this how we were dressed no sexual repression" and he mentioned India being the land of Kama Sutra.

So if there's no sexual repression in India then maybe you can tell me if Mira Nair's film Kama Sutra made it past the censors uncut? Bollywood films always look pretty tame to me. Maybe this is just a misconception on my part but there must be a reason.

these are all the qoutes about women in anceint texts

Women are preoccupied with bed and jewlery and are involved in
libido, anger, envy, pettyness and bad behavior.

He disapproved of the "free society" and "liberal values" that
women were used to in those days:

Naturally fickle, tending to engage in sexual act with every man
who came by, uncaring about their husbands, they despite being
given security by their husbands, go against them and engage in
extra marital affairs.

And that's relevant because...?

Xtreme, I dont know If Kamasutra made to the Indian theaters with or without censor cuts. But I know for sure that most of the Hollywood's 'R' rated movies are released without any cuts. They all are given 'A' Certificate but they do get past censor uncut.

Film Censorship is needed in a country like India because unlike USA there anyone can buy ticket for an 'A' rated movie and watch it without any restriction.

Bollywood movies look tame not just because of the censors but also because most of the bollywood Actors/Actresses aren't willing to do such so called bold acts because of our social structure. Please tell me how many south Asians are comfortable kissing their wives in front of their family or in Public ??

So why is the media and film industry so heavily censored?
times change. so do societies. the society at the time of the KS was very open. but these days, the society is not that open regarding the topic of sex. some people will be offended by excessive boldness on the screen. even then there are calls for abolishing the censorship system.

Because the majority that enjoys Indian films happens to be Musalman Pakistanis.

So you're saying that 'Escape from the Taleban' was made for a Pakistani audience or maybe an Afghan one?

Most likely Pakistani since Taliban are said to be Pakistan’s creation.

India is not stupid enough to spend money on a film that is made for an audience that can barley afford a radio.

Yeah maybe it was the ISI that made this film. Anyway, I'd like to draw your attention to this film again Khanabadosh. Let's dicuss this Indian film in more detail seeing as you seem to be a big fan of India.

It's called Escape from the Taleban

I'll find out who's starring in this blockbuster which will wow Indian audiences from Calcutta to Bombay.

Who said I was a fan of anything?

I don’t have to worry about this film issue. The person that actually went through the whole ordeal is now suing the film makers accusing them of changing the story. She is now getting help from someone that claims to be the great grand daughter of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan to make the movie in Bangladeshi language according to her.

Btw, India has been recently producing an influx of anti-Pakistani movies, though Pakistanis do watch and are seem to enjoy them, do you might know why that is?

Has the poison done its job? Any thing for a sexy dance by an Indian chamiya, even if it means watching someone disrespect Pakistan.
