Well, they’re been converted to JPEGs… may I know why? because this wasn’t happening before. And if you are curious, I want to upload a few smilies so that I’m not constantly reminded about the use of external images… 
External non GS smilies arent allowed either. :p

Hold on a sec... we are allowed to attach images right... and I read somewhere that we can add images to posts in forums other than Image if that comes under the current topic being discussed and the message is not based upon the image and the image just compliments the topic. Is that no longer ok?
So if it is "ok"... why can't I add uploaded smilies to my posts...?
Images are allowed if they contribute to or support the discussion going on. Its not too complicated and I am sure people can use their own judgement. :) Examples can be provided. I know you can twist and turn this and prove external smilies to be "ok", but they arent.
Maybe people just need to be more creative in their words than the smilies :p .
