Re: Upgrade XP to Vista
I have XP on my Sony and I bought an HP with Vista Premium on it. Overall I like Vista. A few of the things are annoying that sometimes that permission box pops up where the admin has to confirm whether they really want to make a system change. Of course Word, Excel, Outlook etc. were new. 2000-2003 Office don't work on Vista. So that was a problem because they give you a 60 day trial for office 2007. After that it doesn't work.
As for other programs, such as Adobe Standard, Adobe Photoshop, Scanner (that I bought while I had XP), and a few of other optional programs, they installed without any problems. Only for the scanner, I had to go to Cannon's website and download the Vista driver, but that's all.
I am not 100% sure which one of the 2 is the best solution because I didn't do either of those. But I just wanted to let you know what I experienced, hoping it may help. If you have additional question, feel free to PM and I'll be glad to help.
