The first one’s Nadia Ali. She’s very tall, in some picture she looks taller than Iraj, has a nice body and a pretty face.

Rezz Ali was raving about her in his column a few weeks ago. She's tall, i forgot how tall but i think she's around 5'8. And her name's Alina.

I've been seeing this girl a lot lately in magazines and photoshoots. Her name's Mariam and something tells me she's not tall enough to be a ramp model so she does photoshoots n editorials instead. Still, she's pretty.

The other Mariam. I see her face plastered in every single magazine too. She’s pretty but her face annoys me. maybe cuz its soo expressionless.

Faiza. She's tall and is supposed to be "one of" the next Iraj/Vaneezas. She looks a lot like models from India.

all desis girls look like girls next door, why cant they find unusual looking girls..I'm 5'7 and in heeals I'm 5'11 and i consider myself short and would never model..models should be 5'10 plus..I think we need to get with the times and improve our models..vaneeza looks good, shes got skinny / model body and looks tall..how tall is she?...
Plus I think we need to get a variety of complexions..being fair skinned isn't all that..beautiful women come from all walks of life..why do I get thje feeling its all about who you know and how often you can keep your legs open..not sure if the later is true but I heard lots of gossip about nearly all the models from friends who know them well...

why is it such a big deal about beign tall to be a model, amina haq is really short but she is a very famouse model.i don't know how tall she is but i am sure she is one of the shortest model in pakistan

I think with being you have to offer all the other qualities otherwise any one would be a model just because they are pretty...height is a major subject of debate...I've also heard amina haq is disgusting without the makeup..but who knows I've never seen her without it

We do have a variety of complexions. Neha, Tooba, Iraj, Vaneeza, Faiza, Rachel, Rubab are on the darker side while Iman, Amna Shiffat, Aleena, Sara Gilani are on the lighter side.
I dont think models are all sluts. 
I know two girls who model in Lahore personally and they arent.
Beautiful women might come from all walks of life but Pakistan isn’t like Europe where you can go to a girl selling vegetables and ask her to model. Also, we dont have to have giants in our industry to copy the West when there are far prettier girls who aren’t that tall.

i heard that about amina haq too, but makeup hide all that but hight is the one thing which they can't fix by makeup , high heel is the only choice, but i really don't think hight should be such a big deal when it comes to medelling

^makeup can't change your features. her eyes, face shape, nose, lips are the same with makeup as they are without.

I've posted two pictures to show what a difference makeup, hair, styling, etc. can make. I think Zara Sheikh is a pretty good looking girl, but without her model-face on, she is sooo average looking, and notice that her complexion is far from being fair.
Height is important in ramp modeling though. Models are there to sell clothes. The general perception is that clothes look better on tall and thin models. Even if a design cuts an average person's height, it'll look all right on a taller woman. She won't look stubby. Shorter models do exist, but a lot of shorter models end up doing face work, hair shoots, still photos, not fashion shows.
