Up

They did it again!

Chalk another one up for Pixar. Pretty endearing film, with a pretty endearing main character and backstory.

The themes are not only handled effortlessly, but the symbolism and metaphors backing those themes are as well. Just a moving story told extremely well and with imagination. And the way they play up to elderly stereotypes about hearing aids, disdain of Rap music, talking to deceased relatives, dentures (and more) was all just fabulously handled. It’s like they put these stereotypes in the movie and then chip away at each of them with humor, wit, and charm. Really fun to watch.

And the score. The score was excellent. Probably one of the best scores Pixar has put forth yet. Really helped to add to both the story’s heartfelt moments, and playful ones. Great music.

Just a really good effort.

loved this movie:)

Re: Up

I hope everyone saw it on 3D in the theaters and not some bootlegged version on their tiny computers.

Re: Up

i was planning to watch it on our tiny computer after it comes on dvd ....whi is it important to watch it in cinema? Isn't it something like madagascar?

Re: Up

^ its 3D for one (with the 3D glasses and all), and the amount of work and details that they put into the rendering doesn't do justice on the DVD versions, even the blu ray DVDs.

Re: Up

^hmmmm, is it a good movie for a 5 years old boy? Mamoo spock. I'm thinking of sending my eldest along with my hubby to watch it on the big screen.

Re: Up

Hareem, I think it would be a great movie for a 5 year old to watch on the big screen, especially in 3D.

I think anything in 3D is amazing.

I don't think its out in the U.K yet though. I may even endure the pain of going to the cinema for this one.

Re: Up
