KARACHI: The city life here on the 5th day of the martyrdom of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto has started getting back to normalcy, however, the uncertain situation galore. It may be recalled that a three-day mourning was officially announced on the unfortunate murder of Benazir Bhutto, when all the activities in the mega-metropolis here remained completely standstill. The citizens remained confined to their houses due to the loot and arson let loose in the city and the petrol pumps closing down all through these mourning days.
Essential supplies in the city started on Sunday and the City Government got several petrol pumps opened, while the things started returning to normalcy Monday morning, when the vehicles were seen plying on the roads, as these were cleared of the huge wreckages of the torched vehicles littered all over the city. Besides, petrol pumps and CNG stations have also opened up, while milk shops, bakeries and small restaurants have started entertaining the customers.
However, Lyari, Malir and other several areas have yet to come out of the shock and grief, as the life over there still remains paralyzed. Upcountry train service as yet remains suspended and efforts were afoot to get them restored. However, the people could now move through highways, as road traffics to some extent stood restored.
