Here are reports from earlier this year mentioning them.
Hundreds of foreign fighters, including** Uzbeks, Chechens and Arabs**, fled to the semi-autonomous tribal lands on the Pakistani side of the border after US-led forces overthrew the Taliban government in Afghanistan in 2001.
My guess is that they are Tajiks from Tajikistan proper, not from neighboring Afghanistan.
As for the Chechens, well the reason I remained skeptical is due to the lack of findings of Chechen involvement with the Taliban. To this day, not a single Chechen is in Guantanamo Bay.
Jihadis have never been my heros, i have never ever supported them and hae always put forward my thoughts on practical and workable solutions to get rid of this problem.
This is in contrast to you, who keep supporting that fat ******** who is killing innocent people day in and day out. You are an accompalice to his crimes, you are a terrorrist yourelf.
Yeah right, you are a huge jihadi supporter, which is why you are getting so hot and bothered about news that 40 of your terrorist pals are dead. Tell me what this thread have to do with MQM again?
well, I am not questioning your zeal to take on the terrorist, neither am I supporting either.
However, one must question why these soldiers are being treated as nothing more than cannon fodder; while these brave soldiers are laying their lives for a "cause", the corrupt generals are neglecting to mention even their names and highlighting their sacrifices ..any opinion on this?
This has been true of all wars. Except for those who get high gallantry awards, no ones knows of the rest. It's not like people outside of select tribes in FATA and madrassahs are celebrating the deeds of thousands of taliabn jihadis who have died in Afghanistan and Pakistan. We all know how the Taliban were wiped out en mass by American B-52 strikes. Anyone know what they died for?
Taliban militants attacked a military base near the Pak-Afghan border on Thursday, sparking a battle that drew in army helicopters and left up to 50 insurgents and two soldiers dead, Inter Services Public Relations Director General Major General Waheed Arshad said. He said eight other soldiers were wounded in the fighting near Razmak, a town in the North Waziristan. He said security forces repelled repeated militant attacks. Army helicopters and ground fire destroyed four rebel positions, he added. He said the army’s initial estimate was that at least 30 militants were killed, but added later that tribesmen informed officials that up to 50 rebels had died in the military attack. He dismissed a claim by militants that they had killed over 100 soldiers in the region in the past two days as “totally false” and “baseless”. A militant rocket hit a transformer and power line, cutting electricity in Razmak, he said. He also denied reports from three intelligence officials who said 10 soldiers had been killed in the fighting. One of the intelligence officials, on the condition of anonymity, told the AP that four to six other soldiers were missing after the attack on the Nawaz Fort base. The security forces also killed around forty militants on Wednesday.
Muslims killing muslims and other muslims praising murder. Truly amazing.
Its wonderful.. We should be killing more Muslims...
Honestly, reply is pathetic and sad... So if it would be ok if it were Muslims killing non-Muslims? Truly amazing...

That might be that the chechens chose to die [like in kunduz?] than surrender to anyone.
PS Btw, how do you who and what is in Guantanamo Bay unless you are deputed there or have links in the US govt? :5
