Anybody studying at the graduate/postgraduate level at the University of Toronto. Does anybody got information whether the school offers, particularly the Arts Faculty( social science depts) like Pol Science, Asian Studies full scholarships to the Ph.D students.
There are plenty of people here from U of T so expect some decent responses soon. Also check out their web site to see if they offer scholarships.
Thanks a lot, Mr. HMCQ. I got so many responses that I didn't have time to go through each of them.
Well, the thing is that I can surf the net, I can go to their website. Why I posted my query here was cuz the link posted at their spot wasn't working. Plus, one of my friemnds studying at the George Mason told me that she didn't get her proposed funding as the university didn't have funds. In that context, I got a bit disappointed and decided to ask people who have been or have attended the Uni of Toronto.
MAny thanks though. :)
well... firstly, I don't think there's anyone here who;s doing his/her postgrad work at U of T.
I for one, only did my undergrad there (St. George Campus) three years ago in Software Engineering and then did my Masters from McMaster Univ. and am currently pursuing my Ph.D. at McMaster as well.
As far as my personal experience goes, I didn't go to U of T because they didn't have anyone who could supervise my intended area of research and they were pretty upfront about that with me.
I do however think that somoebody in the Faculty of Arts would have more difficuly in securing the funding they need to sustain themselves.
My friend got his Masters from Near & Middle Eastern Studies two years ago... if you want I can ask him about his experience.
Ciao.
