Unwanted presents

What’s the best way to return unwanted presents. Or, do you keep them stuck in closet where they can’t be seen. But then again, useless things pile up there as well. Hello…thank you, but I already have a pair of socks/sweater/shirt etc. I tend to act shocked…“oh my goodness, I had no idea”; “heck, where did this come from”, ect. What I am currently trying to figure out is how to nicely return something that I do not wish to have. “Sorry, but I cannot accept this”; “I appologize, but I have no use for this.”; etc. What are some other good sentences people use, regardless of the circumstance.

Re: Unwanted presents

uhm, forward them to someone else. Eventually they will end up to the same person who gave them to you.

Re: Unwanted presents

^ :hehe:

dont be so harsh dopey, if you dont want it just donate those socks or whtever it is to homeless people.

Re: Unwanted presents

Re: Unwanted presents

I returned my sister’s gift three years ago. She gave a green Tommy Hilfiger shirt – yeah, a GREEN shirt . I was, like, you know i only wear BLUE. SCREEECHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh.

Nowadays, she just gives me the money.

Re: Unwanted presents

My friend gave me a shirt for my birhtday last year. It was alrite, not xactly my style (a tad skanky), but what pissed me off most was that she said “its perfectly YOU”

Re: Unwanted presents

bin or I pass the gift on feigned as my own. :k:

Re: Unwanted presents

what if a friend of yours gets you a stripping kit? :hoonh:

Re: Unwanted presents

Re: Unwanted presents

i often pile them up n eventually give them all to my maid.

no wonder she leaves as soon as she gets too many presents

Re: Unwanted presents

My mom “forwards” gifts all the time. :smack: It’s like desis have this whole chain of unwanted presents that just circulate throughout our race :bummer:.

Re: Unwanted presents

Not just desis, mind you. For those of you who are old enough, Seinfeld had a classic episode on "Re-gifters".

Re: Unwanted presents

just say Thank you....and give it to a near shelter. i'm sure it will be useful to someone out there

Re: Unwanted presents

My people

Re: Unwanted presents

^ TOo much x and = there :(

Re: Unwanted presents

hand it to someone who might appreciate it instead

or stock it, it may serve some purpose later,

like i had used this nailpaint of a horrid neon blue to fill in the missing letters on my keyboard : /

Re: Unwanted presents

I am a neat freak in may ways and do not like to store items which I dont intend to use for a specific purpose. the unwanted gifts get donated.

Maybe we should set up a recycled gift exchange program where ppl can barter or get credits for each unwanted gift that they have which they give to someone else on that list. they can then use the credits to get unwanted gifts of other ppl on this network.

Re: Unwanted presents

Forward them or donate them.

Re: Unwanted presents

It's better to donate them.

Re: Unwanted presents

oh it's 'presents'. good i checked before responding :D
