case in point "i didn't knew that" is a phrase recent arrival commonly use and its fine yaar, but dont tell me that its the queens english.
it's not that the grammar is taught incorrectly there... I remember learning to use first form of the verb when 'did' is used in a question or a sentence... it's just people forget...
All his tiny life I have been telling him that FOBs speak British English which is superior to US English. Now I have to take that stance back. I do not feel like doing that , give me some other logical answer people, this answer is not going to fly . You know my kids are smarter than that.:snooty:
so pointing out my typo makes up for your flight of fantasy that ppl from pakistan speak queens english. I am the king of typos on GS i have no time for spellings or punctuations baccha.
yaar ATA, dekho, I am a brit, I live in USA and I lived in pakistan so it allows me a rather unique perspective n this case. While I agree that there are some words that are used in UK and not in US, however there is more to the difference than those words, some phrases and pronunciations like schedule for example.
Its not as if fresh arrivals from pakistan to UK go mainstream right away because they speak the same lingo. and its NOT about the accent I am going on about

same goes for the use of article "a/an"

Actually its both, accent and lingo plus the vocabulary, on top is education! ... we were talking about those who actually are educated, but I know many FOBs came through riding on the fish and landed in USA and started tAAlking ingleesh, yes there we have a thin line to differentiate ...
well it is anyhow an excuse I admit!

So other guy said sorry slip of tung goo ho gia.
only if it were true. when a person knows that the correct word is nothing but says nuthin or nuffin, its one thing but someone saying I didnt knew that and insisting they were right is a diff issue.
