Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

I admit IK is not an angel who can not falter. He must have made judgmental errors like the case of Swat you have mentioned.

His biggest asset is the credibility of being honest.

The root cause of this militancy problem is the double games which were played by our establishment for years. On one hand they protected the the militants as their strategic assets and on the other hand they were showing the world that they were fighting to eradicate the militancy. Even today our establishment is accused of supporting the Haqqani network. All our political leadership always tried to strike deals with this establishment to get power.. ignoring these double games for years. Our political leader-establishment have no credibility nationally and internationally.

Ik's stated policy against militancy is that Pakistani soil should not be allowed to be used for any sort of militancy for what-so-ever reasons. Because of IK's credibility I personally think that once in power he will follow this stated policy which will put our establishment in order. When this establishment support will be withdrawn from selective militants.. the problem of militancy in Pakistan will reduce to a large extent.

Once we put our own house in order.. there will be no need to let foreign forces do inhumane actions like drone attacks to stop this militancy. These foreign actions in fact are a major cause to increase the young recruits for the militants from backward tribal areas.

Bottom line is the solution to the whole problem lies in fixing our house in order with perfect honesty which at least I don't expect from any other political leadership or establishment..

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

oho yahan to very hardcore politics. Me slowly stepping out.

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

The point of PTI is that IK is not corrupt like zardari&co. While ur point of foriegn policy domestic security difference between the two, does not hold bcoz it is still being decided by GHQ, with PPP in power.

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

Shamraz, are you Republican or Democrat?

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

I'm a kool-aid drinking democrat. :D

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

Kool-aid? Now don't tell us that you like chicken and water-melon too. :D

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

In that case, how come IK never criticize PA & generals that responsible for the mess that country is in?

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

I'm vegetarian by choice...so no chickens for me. :D

Btw, term kool-aid drinker is idiom...someone who blindly fallows party or beliefs...kind like jilya i guess? :D

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

Your comment would be valid if the 'democratic government' of PPP did something about it instead of dishing out 16 ministries to PML(Q) guys who supported Mush till exile and beyond.

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

where did the rest of the 160+ million people go, did they listen to gilani and leave? :)

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

We're talking about ISI/Army creating & backing jihadi forces that have crated chaos across the nation ( & IK never condemned that). So, how is that relevant to who controls what ministries? Btw, its funny that you're condemning Q- league when many of its lotas are joining PTI. Remember Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri?

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

What makes you think that IK will be able to take away those powers from ISI/GHQ?

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

Not condemning at all. Just saying you cannot justify supporting PPP because PTI doesn't say much about ISI/Army. If I could see PPP taking a hard stand and keep MQM and PML(Q) away, while trying to reduce powers of ISI/Army through cooperation with PML(N), I would agree with you. The opposite is happening and both PML(N) and PPP people taking in pro-establishment people. Why single IK out?

What has PPP done in the past few years in power to curb military's powers?

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

Not singling him out. Just point out the fact that he is no diff than any other party. And, if he truly beliefs what he says than he should equally condemn all players for creating the mess...since military is responsible for most of it.

As for what has PPP done to curb military's power...the PPP govt has been limping on for 4 years looking over it shoulders just to make sure that men in khakis don't walk in & handcuff PM/prez like it has happened so many times in the past. Under such circumstance how can you govern effectively?

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

LOL....

You give PPP so much leeway... I'm not expecting any kind of 'governance' from PPP, only expected a little mercy but was not shown. But, how about same lip service from PPP which you are expecting from IK? Making Pervez Elahi deputy prime minister doesn't say PPP is trying to or is interested at all in reducing military influence in politics.

If IK is not different from any other party, then you are also in the same boat. Criticizing one party only for not saying which your own favorite party not only doesn't say while being in government but also does the opposite of what you propose.

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

If PPP has failed...voters will judge their performance on the election day. Btw, its lot easier to criticize the government for its failures from outside than governing the chaotic country of 180 million people.

So, what is PTI's plan to deal with load-shedding, Taliban, economy, foreign policy, terrorism, FATA, Baluchistan, drones attacks, etc? What are they going to do to strengthen governing institutions? Let us hear some specifics from PTI's supporters.

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

LOL… amazing. Present massive failure and mega corruption is okay but possible future PTI failure is not. It would have been fine for me if the government ever TRIED to do something about these issues.

You are diverging anyways. You specifically asked why IK doesn’t say anything about ISI/Army. I accept that and just asked you to give me any indication or signal from the present government that it is in any way trying to curb ISI/military. I would say PPP is more in line with establishment than IK. He at least did not shake hands (yet) with PML(Q) or MQM. Replace Zardari with Mush and Rental with Shaukat Aziz and we could have a cabinet meeting a from few years ago:

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

We shall discuss that in near future.

PTI to form electoral alliance with Sheikh Rasheed

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

Yes, but if you are trying to find a party that is not in bed with establishment, PPP certainly is not the one now.

Re: Unplugged With Guppies — Shamraz Khan

^^^ Well, Zardari is a shrewd politician. If he was hardheaded like NS he would be in jail today (btw, at least he hasn't victimized his political opponents). In politics & in life you learned to live with that things that you can't control.
