What would you personally do if you suddenly came into possession of a fairly large sum of money by accident which was made by unlawful means? What does Islam require a person to do and what would you do personally?
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?

Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
Guilty for receiving a gift that comes from the heart...Never, I will thank you
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
it wil be a cheap gift...I refuse to spend it all on you.
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
Give it away in charity or invest it and give the revenue in charity or if it is really big amount of money create a trust fund for a noble cause.
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
^ Yes, dressing Kaleem up is a very noble cause
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
^ good point Kaleem..a naked desi texan is definitely a charity case :p ..although that doesn't beat an old lazy without her purse... AJ your idea is interesting but..whats the reasoning..is the money haram? If one isn't responsible for the act and it happens to land it in your possession why are you obligated to spend it on "good things"
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
Even man made laws will charge you with posession of stolen property, surely your religious views wouldn't give you a free pass.
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
stolen? Semi, what if no one claims it?
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
unlawful in the urdu sense I mean na-jayz..you are missing the point semi..its a simple enough question..lots of money..you are legally in the clear..but you are also aware that the money was earned in an immoral or unethical way..what would you do? Perhaps it came from a corrupt relative who kicks the bucket or a former criminal who you have befriended decides to go clean and gives you the money..
Re: Unlawful money..The Islamic view?
Zakk, I don't know what Islamic jurisprudents will say about it, most probably it is legal but I believe in earning for yourself. If I didn’t work for the money, I don’t want it. I wouldn't take any money from my father; he has spent enough on me already!
