We invite applications from persons able to teach Social Movements or Identity Politics and Sociological Theory. Additional preference will be given to those able to teach one or more of the following: Race and Ethnic Relations, Deviance, Social Conflict, Political Sociology.

Successful candidates must have a PhD in Sociology or Anthropology, demonstrated ability to teach the courses listed above, and research productivity and potential. The department has a strong preference for people who can provide students with community based experiences, who have the ability to collaborate – within and across departments and with groups outside the university – whose background and experience prepare them to work effectively with diverse student and faculty populations, and who can contribute to at least one of the interdisciplinary programs on campus. The teaching load is three courses per semester for those with an active research program. Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

University of Wisconsin-Parkside is a primarily undergraduate university of 5,000 students and one of 13 four-year campuses in the University of Wisconsin System, and is located on a 700-acre wooded campus bordered by Milwaukee and Racine to the north and Kenosha and Chicago to the south.
