universal problem

i’m so frustrated with da world cup fever!
it was tolerable for da first few weeks but now its getting on my nerves!
of all da things in da world, i have to compete for my husband’s attention with a freakin ball!

he wakes up at odd hours to catch live matches, even sets up da alarm so that he can wake up on time! neva have he done such stuff for me or our son…

in da mornings, he stuffs his face in da sports section of da newspaper. then he comments on all da teams and makes da prediction for the next matches.

evenings, he meets up with his friends to discuss on who’s gonna win, who played well, who screwed up etc etc. even his fone calls and smses revolves around world cup.

sometimes he even stays over at his bro’s place to watch da matches together! and last i remembered he doesnt get along with his bro’s wife! juz days before da world cup he prohibited me from visiting them “unneccessarily”, didnt know da world cup had become a necessity.

we havent had a decent conversation for a long time cuz his mind is full of world cup. i’m feeling so lonely… and inferior to the world cup.

anyone care to make me see things positively? badly need to do tat.

Re: universal problem

I think you should join him. Watch the world cup with him. Set the alarms with him. Go over to his bro's house with him to watch it. You never know, you might just get into it too. :)

Re: universal problem

i do watch certain matches.... those tat i'm interested in.... but he seeems be rooting for every damn country!!! wats with tat??

Re: universal problem

lol the guys are gonna be soooo mad u siad that :p
but thas sad u gottta compete for his atteniton wiht a freakin ball.
but when the world cup isnt on, is he like this? ignoring you and ur son and blahblah?

Re: universal problem

Just go totally crazy about soccer and you should over pass him. Stop cooking , cleaning and spend that time watching soccer and start keeping journals on soccer and showing him everything in details. I am sure he will be very very glad. :)

Re: universal problem

LOL @ jal pari.

Nisa, i think you already know guys are like that. I don't think it's anything personal (assuming he isn't like this all the time).

Matt is like that with basketball. It used to drive me crazy but then i started watching it with him and now it's become something we do together where we're just hanging out, taking it easy and watching (or playing) the game. I genuinely enjoy it and wouldn't trade it for anything. I realized that it's much more fun than sitting there going nutts over it and feeling like he's neglected me or something. Same goes for video games. . . it's so much more fun to try to beat him.

So, learn everything you can and then challenge him :)

Re: universal problem

lol @ the comment about competing w/ a freaking ball :omg:

I agree with Solar. If you can’t beat them join them  Most guys are some sort of sports junkies so you gotta give and take when it is “that time of the month” for them

Re: universal problem

This happens just once ever 4 years .. give him a break :snooty:

You get to have him for 47 out of every 48 months… give him up for the remaining 1 out of 48

Plus follow Jal_pari’s idea … mutual love of football is a great way to bond!!! :yahoo:

Re: universal problem

yeah his for the game, yours for the gamers.

Re: universal problem

Watch the football with him and comment on how good looking some of the players are and how muscular their legs are. In particular comment how you love their sexy chests when they take their shirts off at the end of the game.

THAT will get his attention.

:hehe:

Come on England!

Re: universal problem

im glad no1 in my family likes football and neither does my future husband.

I HATE FOOTBALL!!!

ps. i live in England, but i want England to lose cuz they are too full of themselves :snooty:

Re: universal problem

Speaking of universal problems, the ever-beloved Cricket World Cup is less than a year away as well. Lord have mercy on all the desi ammas and baigums of the world and protect them in the finest hours of the night when their mard hazraat are out watching events that are reincarnated only after four years of absence.

Shaadi sey pehley ghar walon ki baatein, shaadi kay baad baigum kay nakhrey. Aaj kul ki biwian - na kaam ki, na kaaj ki, dushman anaaj ki.

Re: universal problem

Impulse, its not very patriotic of you not supporting the country you live in even if you dont like football or ballers.

Nisa, let him enjoy some moments of life, you can join him if you want to. but just for few weeks you should give him free hand.

think about girls who live with people who support and watch everysingle game year round league or club football.

Re: universal problem

I love football with a passion. If I were you Nisa, I would suck it up and watch the games with him.

Also, Starsky has given you some excellent advice. :cb:

Re: universal problem

Thanks for the idea  this is a good one

Re: universal problem

Go Spain, Gooooooooooo…

Re: universal problem

:aq: :rotfl:

Re: universal problem

Why to girls create competition for themselves where there is none. Be it his job, sports or anything else he is passionate about. Why does it have to be them/that or us? I am truly getting sick of women.

Re: universal problem

I think football is fun, I was watching swedan vs germany match on saturday. My mom was sitting next to me and telling me something about the strom forcast (i guess) and all of a sudden I started kind of jumping on the sofa and saying no no no ...lol... She was like kiya howa :D Actually it was last 10mins of the game and swedan got a chance for that corner kick :D
