United Nations - Pakistani Peacekeepers

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister recently said that Pakistan has contributed to 28 of the 54 UN peacekeeing missions in the world for the last 50 years.

My question is, why does Pakistan help the U.N. when the U.N. won’t rescue the opressed Kashmiris people?

Pakistan should use these Peacekeeper (which it sends obroad) to guard it’s own borders.

I say, “Let the Africans look after Africa and the Europeans to look after Europe”.

I agree.

Pakistan comes first.

We don't have the money to look after the whole world.

Ohh god, looks like its a collection of morons. Do you people know anything?

Look at China, do they go around sending their massive army all over the planet or do the rich Saudis waste their money on military missions.

It's not like if Pakistan goes around the world to learn 'fighting skills'. If Pakistan is helping other countries, are they going to help Pakistan tomorrow? No, they're that afraid of losing trade with India, they daren't open their gob.

Whatever! Now i am really starting to get bored, you must understand that as a member of the United Nations all member nations should commit officers to peace missions, such as the chinese officers in Afghanistan on peac keeping missions. (did you know bout that)>?

Pakistan should just leave the United Nations alltogether. Switzerand isn't a member and they have one of the healthiest economies in the world.

China doesn't have peacekeepers in Kashmir despite resolutions have been passed in it's favour.

The missions for the UN cost Pakistan nothing, and enable Pakistan to help make a better world for other people.

The UN pays to fly Pakistani troops to other countries.
The UN pays for their living costs
The UN pays the salaries for the Pakistani soldiers (and pays them many, many times more than what they get when serving Pakistan)

The primary reason why most of the UN peacekeepers come from poorer countries like Pakistan or Bangladesh is that these countries benefit from the hard cash the UN pays out for troops.

Richer countries (ie the USA) don't need the money, and therefore contribute very few troops to the UN, as they have no need or incentive to risk their soldiers' lives abroad serving another cause.

They end up paying with their lives.
