Unisex Names

Re: Unisex Names

Kaur, I’m a bit curious about something. I was aware that Sikh names are typically unisex but are there some names that more commonly used for girls or boys?

The reason I ask this is that I’ve observed that certain names are most commonly used in one of the sexes. For example, all of the Jaspreets I’ve met are female and most Harminders I’ve met are male. Also, I have a female friend named Harminder and she commented that there have been occasions when she’s arrived for job interviews and the interviewer was surprised she’s female as he seems to have been expecting a guy.
